Q3 Minimizer problem

I've been using the Q3 Minimizer for as long as I've been playing ET, but lately when I maximize it again after having it minimized I feel I'm getting fps lag or something. It's like playing with 30-40fps even though it says 200. Anybody knows what causes this, or alternatively know a different minimizer which is just as easy to use?
