Could be that the ENGI did moved allthougt u think its not true, also most of the engis hide @ the tunnel when they planted so could be exp.

Or he just received a comment from someone who noticed he was there

Kinda obvious, because he pre-shoots there before he kills BoBoBo guy, and after he kills BoBoBo he just go to defuse, he doesn't check tunnel any more longer. Dont know what to say :< Busted?
Edit: And when he shoots, he gets headshot with first bullet
