The fact that there's like 2-3 real Irish players involved, accompanied by a load of Brits who wouldn't have a chance of getting into their own team somewhat helped my decision too.

What do you actually mean by "real irish" ? Do you mean skilled&known like yourself?Or mean ppl that ARE actually irish and who live in Ireland,because there is plenty of them.

Easily get quite a strong six from them,you might not know me but i played 2.6 about 3 years ago,went to 2.55 for a while and came back to 2.6b about 8 months or so ago.
I know no one went forward to be captain(think emmortal tried to get something going)
Its not that theres no decent available Irish players,i think its just the Irish ET communtiy lacks motivation.

But regarding your list, ask yourself why that team doesn't exist without me, it's not like this whole thing hinges on me. I've captained the NC team enough times now and I feel like I've done my bit.

I've nothing against the likes of Dark and herbal and I don't doubt that they're part Irish, none of them seem interested in playing though. There's a grand total of 8 people in the Irish ET channel right now and the last time there was a conversation in there was before the NC qualifiers. The only 'Irish' person who has PM'd me about this cup is emortal, and I've absolutely no idea who he is.

However, this is mainly about me not being interested in playing. I've captained the team enough times and done my bit, shouldn't be a problem getting a team together without me if there's 10 odd people as fLUSHjE suggests!

lol. Paul McGrath, Tony Cascarino, even Zinedine Kilbane have all amassed 83+ caps for Ireland, along with 3 Irish players that have done that. And you can't acuse them of not caring or playing without passion for ireland can you?

But I suppose you can't compare ET to football so was a bit ridiculous for me to try :)
