use css for positioning rather than tables.

go check w3.org regularly

learn all about why/how IE, Firefox and Opera aren't the same

when designing a site you must allways check in other browsers as you build, the widest used browser being IE.

As some of the others have stated you should rly be building using css and divs. You could always learn to design instead of coding, in which case you should learn flash, Ps and Ai.
