My pc just got formatted by a PC shop..

Specs:

AMD 2500+
768MB ram
ATI 9800pro

I installed ET, installed ATI catalyst drivers for my graphiccard

But now when I join a public server, got fps from 25 - ... :s even in braundorf :D

drops all the time..

I play with modus config, 1024 - 768 screen resolution in windows..

What could solve my problem?

Solved: Omega 2.6.71 drivers did the work..

125 fps stable for now (at least in bremen on an empty server :P)

I guess the nerd sukkel from the pc shop installed chipset drivers but no graphic drivers

SaTz gave me nice drivers (old ones) for an ATI 9800pro, who give the best performance @ ET

Sometimes it's best to use some older drivers. Atleast when I use the newest drivers I have the same result you have.

I have nVidia and tbh I don't know much about those videocard driver stuff, just try to google some.

I have almost the same computer parts as you, and stable 83 @ most maps. You should try a low-fps config, set higher priority for ET and run less programs at the background. And check tutorials, there are plenty of tips about this subject..

edit: Try to set Mip Map detail level lower @ catalyst 3d options. And make sure that anistropic filtering and anti-aliasing are off.

I've got radeon 9600 pro..
Latest Catalyst driver might be the best one for 9800 pro.

yup, what he said. Download cpu-z and run it. Look for a tab that gives you the mobo information. Next google the correct mobo drivers.

He used windows stock drivers, which are included in ur windowsxp installation, and yeah you get 40fps with that.

Omega 2.6.71 is for radeon 9500 and before?
i have this card aswell, so i would be interested in wich driver is best for ET
