Choose from 2 different setups

Hi

I have to help a friend choose a setup for his new PC and would like to hear what ppl think.

U can choose from theese 2 setups:

My choice would be (Setup1):

I would buy the 1st but with the 9600GT, the 9600GT is cheaper and is slower than the 8800GT in very few benchmarks and the difference is hardly important. The largest gap I saw was like 5 fps.

Are u sure its the same when its "ultra" overclocked edition of both cards?
As far as i know 8800GT scales alot better when overclocked than 9600GT so in theory the 8800GT in this case should have a bigger performance gap down to the 9600GT than when its standard editions?

I have exactly the same monitor and graca as u, but I have some problems with my resolution/hz n stuff.

At what resolution do you play in game and hz and so?

Only running 75 FPS? wth is your config, the highest possible graphics for ET? My friend runs his 9600GT 100% stable 125FPS (hits 500 FPS or more sometimes on non-CB config servers) and he runs 125 FPS in CoD4 O.o

I can easily run 125FPS but what works best on TFT is to run the same FPS as the maximum HZ which is 75 on 4:3 19" so that's why ;)

Setup #1

However I would probably go for an ATi HD4850 if you can stretch £20. They are trouncing the nVidia offerings in the price-point benchmarks.
