seems nice. I dont have too much knowledge about computers but as much as I know, it seems like a good deal.
Omg... 880€ ? nice... where do you live ?
... where? :o
from an Estonian internet shop

EDIT: http://www.faun.ee/arvutid/
+3725088232 is their number ;>
oh wait im calling them in a sec!
Parent
I'd guess it would be about worth it....
But how much would i save, if i'd put it together myself?
Parent
I dont think much at all tbh
Parent
cool, now i can go watch Top Gear S11 E01
Parent
dont bother, it wasnt that good but Episode 2 is v. good
Parent
indeed it is better than 1. but not v.good imo, 7-8 (1-10) scale
Parent
I thought it was quite good :P
Gonna watch e02 on iPlayer in a bit, missed it :x
Parent
Yeah not a bad deal
how much should it cost then, to be a "good deal" ? :o
Parent
Ok well its not that bad of a deal but it can be built for about 100 Euros cheaper if you can get parts at the same prices that I can. (I use online retailers, nothing special)

Antec 900 Case
Seagate Barracuda 500GB HD
PNY 9800GTX 512MB
Enermax 625Watt PSU
4GB Patriot Viper RAM (Cas latency 4)
DFI Lanparty DK X48-T2RS Motherboard
Intel Q9300

Total: ~762 EUR
NVIDIA is a technology, many companies manufacture it, some badly some not - u need to find out WHAT nvidia.

also motherboard is important, and power supply.

just buy ur own stuff, it takes less than 1hour to put it together.
Actually as far as I know ATi and maybe nVidia itself do produce some of their own cards (mad overpriced from what I have seen) so they don't just ship it off to to others to manufacture the cards.
Parent
let's do a quick calculation on the single parts (prices in my favorite German store):
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2,50GHz 2x3MB 1333MHz FSB: 205€
Western Digital 500GB SATA 7200rpm: 60€
Kit 2x2048MB OCZ DDR2 800MHz CL4 XTC Titanium: 75€
512MB Sparkle Geforce 9800GTX DDR3 2xDVI PCIe: 195€
ATX Midi Tronje T-120 Front-USB/Audio schwarz/silber (inkl. 420Watt): 45€
----------------------
~580€
missing is a decent mainboard which also will cost around 70-80€

so the difference is around 140€. If the system however is prebuilt it could be worth the extra money. Depends on the shop I guess.
Zomg, cheap PSU, I think you need 500Watt or greater for the 9800GTX...

EDIT: Getting some OCZ Platinum Rev.2 DDR2 800 RAM personally soon ;d
Parent
the 9800gtx in fact uses less power. It's possible to run the system stable with a quality 350 watt PSU
Parent
24amp rating 450Watt psu. <--- thats what I have found so far for power reqs. for a 9800GTX but whatever, I don't care I prefer to use high efficency powersupplies with a little more juice than I need, to be safe ;d
Parent
I play on a 3 year old laptop with a mobility X700, np
Parent
my laptop is 2 years old with Intel GMA 945 onboard video, not so cool : ( I can't pull 76FPS usually its sad. About the 9600GT, I am actrually ordering it tonight and picking up a copy of CoD4.
Parent
I'd buy 500w for future, no point buying 350w anymore, unless its budget pc.
Parent
was only an example with the 350 watt. But still a quality build 350 watt PSU can be superior to a noname 500 watt PSU
Parent
and how much fps do you get in cod4 (if u play it) ?
Parent
That system would run whatever FPS you need (for CoD4), my system I am building will be able to run it at 125FPS.

My System:
Mobo: Biostar TForce TP43D2A7
RAM: 2GB OCZ Platinum Rev.2 DDR2 800 RAM (CL 4)
Processor: Intel E2180
Video Card: MSI 9600GT
OS: Vista Home Basic 64-bit
Hard Drive: WD 160GB
Parent
4096MB you mean. And brands are important for quality imo...
No PSU spec, no specific case given, no MOBO or RAM manufacturer either?

Can't say without knowing those tbh, as poor ram or a crap main board will create bottlenecks and reduce the performance of your other components.

I'd want a roomy case with a removeable motherboard tray, decent RAM and depending on whether or not my mobo supports SLi, I'd want atleast 500w PSU (maybe 800, or even 1kW if you go SLi as 9800's are power hungry!)
"4048MB PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2," isn't that RAM sir ?
Parent
Sure is, but there are better manufacturers than others :-)

Corsair, OCZ, Geil, Kingston etc are all pretty reputable brands that make good quality products.

They might try and give you value ram or a poor brand if it's a pre-built machine so it could be worth asking them about!
Parent
OCZ is doing well right now, I don't find a need to spend the premium for Corsair because I see they often have issues posting, from what I have read. Also Kingston is a safe buy. Corsair is still a good buy if you want bragging rights basicly, but if you want a more likely to work kit and is cheaper, look at OCZ or Kingston HyperX RAM, thats just me of course.
Parent
Actaully 800 Watt can run them SLi'd, no need for 1Kw powersupply with those cards, SLi'd 9800GX2 I would get 1Kw for though. But again, I wouldn't even seen a need for this,I mean running Crysis on the highest possible resolution, sure you would but why do that, no need for it...
Parent
too expensive. And like they say above, give brandnames etc
give brandnames but as far i can see specifications, its quite good deal =]
4gb ram can be +/- fully used only on vista 64bit cause any other OS won't take more than 3/4 of this ram :D
an better buy core2duo e8200/8400 or wait for better quads cuz c2d are better thans quads and cheaper atm.
okeii, thanks for the info, im thinking of buying the parts seperatly now :P

EDIT: Top Gear was great <3
could be better :/
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Samsung 640GB 16mb (dual-platter ftw)
4048MB PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2 (brand and latencies plz)
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD4870
Sorry guys, i dont know shit about computers so im just trying to gather information from inet but i guess im too low for that kinda shit :D

EDIT: is x38 a good motherboard?
My motherboard that I mentioned would work better probably, X38 is Intel's original motherboard that supported PCI-X16 2.0 slots. the X48 is the update to it.
Parent
If you don't feel confident in buying the parts seperately and putting them together yourself, or can't get a friend to help you or something, then spending a little extra on a pre-built machine isn't a bad thing :-)
Parent
It seems like the PC will be put together in a local computerstore, but i dont know the price yet :P
Parent
can get cheaper tho, why gaming case; get cheaper one..
b/c the 900 looks cool =) actually it cools really well.
