wierd sound problem

I got a very weird problem. I have a headset that I always use and speakers (that I almost never use), I have this headset for like 3 months and it works rly fine, expect today I wanted to play ET but I had no sound. So I tried to check everything. Rebooted a couple of times. Replugged-in and out.
But still my headset doesn't work. I can hear music and stuff, but no sound in ET. My speakers do work fine at ET , but that is not a solution.
Anyone who knows something, can you please tell me how to fix it?

*EDIT* now with the speakers I have no sound in ET too. :l
