new fav , released this year and its fucking massive. billions of others to choose from i could sit here and post all night.
like hardcore nrg CDs , all remixes of calmer dance tunes but so good for raving.
:}
I can respect any genre of music if the actual artist is somewhat unique to that genre, but people rehashing old stuff is simply not respectable.
What's your stance on IDM ('Intelligent Dance Music') like Boards of Canada, Venetian Snares, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Telefon Tel Aviv, múm, etc
I guess it's closest to post-techno/electronica/experimental than it is to dance though. Infact IDM seems to be only related to dance in name only :|

but for me its everything that just sounds good. ive got like 5,000 music tracks on my PC from all genres of the spectrum and from listening to everything , good dance music is the best you cant beat it. then trance and rock then pop tbh. shit that has a good beat to it and you can just feel inside you , gets ur spirits up makes u feel good. and hearing it on PC speakers is nothing compared to hearing it in clubs and the only way you can hear trance/dance music in clubs is by going outside of the UK. everything in the UK is just hiphop/pop/mainstream dance e.g madonna 4 minutes, timberland , excuse for trying to enter the dance scene.
Well, I respected you after your first reply to me... but why the sudden change in heart and posting this (mostly) incoherent flame garbage?
Firstly, you are just entering uni this year, I'm entering my A2's. That puts me at one year behind you, I don't think that gives you sufficient ground to call me a kid. Secondly, my music taste is quite different to the majority of my friends, who are more into indie/rock which while something I would listen to, it is far from my favorite genre. I'll give anything a listen to anything irrespective of genre, whether it be as extreme as heavy metal or as laid back as Latino. I also disagree with the comment that just because it is 2008, everything good has already been made? What? That's no excuse! I'm still finding artists from 2008/2007 that completely redefine certain genres for me and have a completely unique sound.
Honestly I hope you read what I'm saying and don't take this personally for some obscure reason, I have faith that you aren't thick skull-ed like for instance killerboy, and will see reason over opinion.
I think some of the stuff on my harddrive hasn't even had 500 CD sales yet, popularity of music doesn't influence me, if I like it I like it T.T
this is all from americas got talent 2007/08 (08 hasnt been shown in the UK yet)

EDIT: I listen to a bit of experimental/Rave/Dark ambient/Dark DnB/Goa/psytrance/aggrotech/... Don't really know all the names. But yeah that website that I could hook you up with has some serious nice tracks:).
The age of people listening to club music is obviously the young and they will stay "in" to that music for say a broad range from 18-30 years old. (Some may be in to it longer or shorter than that). So the clubs will play newschool and oldschool music to suit both groups of clubbers, then the young recognise the oldschool hits, like them and there will still be demand for them to be played when the older generation stop clubbing etc.
There isnt as much incentive for some people to be "original" when they could simply do a remix or recycle a beat and be just as, or bigger, than they would have been doing original stuff. But sometimes i dont really mind, its all about the feeling and experience you get out of clubbing.
But I agree with Nyke, UK clubs play lots of crap music unless they have a really good DJ who finds good songs rather than copying the playlist off the kiss100 website - Mainland Europe is the place to be imo.
