wrong then. the game is loaded locally at your pc eventhough the browser calls thoose functions...
(check your C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\id Software\quakelive folder.... you just need to browser to load the game but everything is loaded locally and you can even interact with game like you did with q3)
even if the files are inside your computer, you play it on an internet page, which is less pleasant and comfortable than a "normal" game, don't you think?
Meez said the new engine is better / smoother, and he is an "old quake player", probably more of a quake player than you are.. so stop speculating so much :o)
i hope so, think it would be perfect for my eee pc:P
if ur right, i will be really interested in ET Live, what carmack has mentioned as a probable project =)
I really doubt ID paying for a modification of a free game (there own developed game!!).
Wouldnt be that hard to add the most important features of ETPro in there sourcecode and create a live version (they got most codes already from QL).
QL is just a modified Q3... nothing extraordinary, excluding the fact that you play it on the web

but i mean, old Q3 players will certainly prefer the old engine than the "modified" one, whilst new comers will find that moves are betters, etc.
that's like in warsow with the polemic around cg_oldMovements.
Yes, movements seems smoother, but still, I prefer Q3 than QL.
The interface (friendlist, menus, etc) is interesting tho, and I never said QL wasn't good.
Just my opinion.
Also alot of new leagues/tournaments etc will feature QL and not Q3, so there is not much to argue about, most ppl will switch to QL.
+ i like the friendlist, statstracking etc features !
anyways, it's always nice to see people active for a game, even if it's with the detriment of another one
I tested it a very very long time ago.. QL kinda sucked, dont know how it is now.
You tell me? ;)

either id will pay for it well or otherwise they'll just steal the etpro functions and recode them by themselves...

but i will play CTF anyways in QuakeLive... no more duels for me :)
otherwise i'll just play it on my desktop as soon as it gets fixed
i could play it on my acer without many problems
Can give stuff in return!
i have 2 invites left :D
I pm'd you.
