autoexec.cfg not working

It doesn't activate when I enter et.Here are the steps I followed;

- I typed this into notebook

seta name "^1HiHello"

-I saved as as "autoexec.cfg" (I added the " around the file name) as all files and not as txt.I saved it into the the et directory which is

C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory

-I start up the game and my name doesn't change,what am I doing wrong?

put it in etmain and try /exec autoexec.cfg ingame and /vid_restart

now its says it can't run autoexec2.cfg

what now?

K, do the following. Save the file as greywolf.cfg save it in etmain, start up et, open console and do /exec greywolf

did you maybe instal ET 2 times and saved it in the wrong 1 or your cfg might be to big

actually i did install it twice :o must have saved it in the wrong one,ill have a look around my computer
