Unstable 125 fps with pretty good pc

Hello, I have been wondering lately why I have fps drops with my pc. My pc: E8400 @ 3,6 ghz (stock cooler...), ocz platinum 4x1gb, heforce 9800gx2, corsair 520w hxeu. I have downloaded the newest nvidia drivers, but tbh I don't know which settings I should change in control panel. I've got pretty low graphics settings in enemy territory config. I have blocked fps @ 125 fps, but on some maps (delivery for example) it is unstable. I have been always thinking it should be still 125 fps, shouldn't it? ;) My monitor is asus vw193d if it changes anything. I don't have any viruses. Please help me what could I change (maybe a command in config makes it unstable, or control panel?). Thanks in advance for help.

laptop xps m1330
os: Windows Vista Home Premium, SP1 :: cpu: Intel Core2 Duo T9300 2.50GHz (at 2501 MHz) :: mem: 510/2048 MB (49%) :: gfx: nVidia GeForce 8400M GS (1280x1024x32bit 60Hz)

can't get stable eigher, had stable when computer was new though:)

download older drivers, I tryed 178.24 1 with my 7900 GS and i get 10/20 less fps then with 169.92. 5min ago i download omega drivers and tryed it.I got 30/35 more fps then with 169.92!


your chose :D

edit: omega drivers are not supported for laptops with vista OS

Edit: i can't install that omega drivers, weird error appears ;/

I got a really shit computer and I use omega drivers and I always have 125stable, or well drops very occasionally!

if you are using xfire (program) then your fps is limited, disable xfire and then reboot Enemy Territory

what's up with xfire? I have a ATI radeon GFX with XFire on, and have also little FPS drops. About 1-3 FPS - 100 FPS. If I exit XFire, will I get than constant 100 FPS?

I dont know, properbly yes , exit xfire before you reboot ET or disable in game @ Enemy Territory, i never had 76 stable in ET but when i disabled xfire in game i have 76 solid, and more fps

xfire+et= 50-100 fps
no xfire = 100 fps constant

But you have to quit xfire BEFORE starting et. Else you won't notice anything :<

I noticed that itself :) I'll just copy the IP before and exit xfire before entering a server and playing a war. Thanks for the good hint anway ;-)

get gfx cvars from tekoa cfg. Work perfectly with my 9800GTX

My colours always switch to 16 bits once I start ET.. (color bits from my graphical card)

Anyone knows how to solve this?

Make slight modification to your config(=change your config) and don't forget to write "/com_maxfps 125" (or what fps you want) in your config. ;)
