cfg problem

My cfg will not work in game.I type in the command /exec autoexec.cfg and then it says excising autoexc.cfg.I do this in etpro but when i do it in normal mode it says can't load autoexec2.cfg.I'm positive it is reading the right file and the commands in the cfg aren't faulty.
