et problem - awaiting gamestate

a friend of mine, whose name shouldn't be mentioned has a problem.
his et gets stuck at awaiting gamestate while joining a server. he's still able to write things into console but he doesnt get any further

(22:54:12) (`TheoDor) and done use next dns address
