go back to store, give them the g5 and replace it with mx510 or mx518. also get a Qpad CT Large. 800dpi, half of windows sens, no accel, 500mhz - should do the trick.
Using cheap gaming mousepad called 'Extinctor Sharp', nothing to be complained about so far.
Price jumps around from 10-20€ since there's 2 different version from it.
i have a g5 and i play with a razer goliathus alpha oversized (its to large i think, but if u're uber low sens u can use all of it maybe???) but i'm low/mid sens and i use only 1/4 of the pad... and it work pretty well, no neg accel, no freez, good tracking... etc etc
or maybe use a qpad ct it would work fine to :p (i have one of it but i prefer the goliathus)

it was the only pad that worked fine with g5 when I had that mouse
For g5 i had Aqua~3 from X-Ray
