ET council neccessary?
After reading Nellie's column yesterday, I figured whether an "ET-council" is neccessary or not.
A council is a form of taking a decision like in a parliament, though with the difference that the members in the council aren't voted by the people into the closed group compared to a parliament.
Now don't get me wrong, I neither favor a council nor a parliament in what is best for the ET-community.
Why do you need a council or a parliament?
Usually because certain people should represent the needs and thoughts of the people/community. The representatives are usually highly educated to discuss certain matters and subjects which the average Joe doesn't understand or isn't interested of. Of course noone is able to be an expert at all different subjects in a society.
BUT this lack of understanding hardly exists in our small ET-community. The subjects and conflicts we are confrontated with aren't that complicated that noone could give an opinion or a vote. That is why I find the neccessarity of a "ET-council" not suitable for the ET-community in the sense of taking decisions.
Instead I suggest more serious polls on crossfire where everyone can vote. Basically like direct democracy like in Switzerland. These polls should be made by the council members because I believe that they are experienced enough to come up with adequate questions to the entire community.

big no, polls don't work. Too many fake accounts, retards, cheaters, busted cheaters, pub only players, people that don't care, people that don't know shit about the competitive game or 5on5, spammers, trolls, noobs.
+ it's the internet not rl, half the people in RL are not suitable to vote, let alone on the inet
anyway, i agree with you..
you are not taking it serious enough. this is et!!!!!
you are taking it way to serious. this is et.
in case you didn't read nellie's column: there is a so called council consisting of some different admins. so it's nothing i invented...
i won't be better AND the invested work will be for nothing.
e: + yea, it has to be ACTIVE players, not players who show up for lan and then leave
