Yeh lets force every linux user to install Windows because thats what they want so badly.
Idiot they switches to linux for a reason!
And SLAC is buggy as hell and I can remember a post from KB that said linux version will be avi in a day, and that was two months ago. Speedlink need to work on SLAC or we can better move back to PB.
can u really play properly et in a virtual box? i have a virtual box on my linux too with a windows xp installed on it. i thought about doing the same.
Don't see reason to spend $$ on Windows :D. I'll say.. who cares are Windows users able to think or not. If you nerd enough you will safe your money and have a Linux
This is crossfire where i bet over 90% of users use illegal versions of windows, i actually paid for mine, you get what you pay for has always been my beleif :)
concerning to programs u have way more options to pick from which are in most of the cases way better.
and most of those programs when they are made for windows are more widely used than microsoft ones since IE, microsoft word... etc are utterly shit compared to FF, chromium, or open office.
I hear this story already for 8 years. Things have not changed. Installing and beeing able to play on Linux is so fucking difficult. Linux is not for playing games.
It's cheaper and you get better quality when building your own computer (and it's also very easy to do) so no, Windows did not come with my pc (and the same for many others).
no, its not solved, u cant play et like this. thats a virtualbox if u move your mouse in there it feels like its all lagged plus i couldnt even get it to fullscreen
what debian u going for? ive got a sid, Im pretty happy about it mainly because u get really new stuff, most of the times its just stable but yet other distros will still take ages to have em. and well when it comes to gaming i dont use linux, ive got a 10gb windows on my pc only for that.
So thats about it to me, got it for evrything except gaming and KDE because i like the desktop. and what meez says? he could perhaps help u out when it comes to gaming on linux?
but what this guy posted wont work to play et, i have a virtualbox with xp aswell and i was planning on doing the same but even on the windows menu inside the virtualbox the mouse is a bit laggy so i didnt even try it.
Not sure I considered sid but not sure, I think i'd go for gnome too, looked at KDE but don't really know what to expect stability wise or how it will draw on my resources (my PC is outdated).
Meez loves Et and nix but I'm not really sure about using it because quite simply, I won't be able to play on slac etc. Lion said that I pretty much get away with not using SLAC because im on linux, which kinda sounds dumb to me, not sure. I tried ET on linux and it worked so smoothly on 125/125 with no mouse input lag at all.
No tried play on linux either, will do some reading on that. Virtual boxing doesn't work if you want to play ET like this it's easier just partition a HDD, was thinking about getting another 2GB ram and RAM driving ET on XP instead. :)
desktops its about taste, u can try dif environments easily tho, install em and pick which one u want to use on the login menu, then stick with the one u liked the most.
about kde's stability well i think gnome is more stable but my dad is a well known programmer here in spain (he became known due to a site that has about 700k vists a day) and he always used KDE.
And yeah u can actually achieve more fps on linux, and SLAC wont be developed for linux?
its basically that u install for example kde on gnome, so u do smth like sudo apt-get install kde (i dont remeber how the package was called) and it downloads and installs it, after u logout from your session and in the menu to login u can chose which one u want to use, kde, gnome.. etc. all the environments uve installed

the only thing where windows performs better than linux is on games.
it should have for yours.
same with everyone else
custom pc means the hardware.
windows is installed on your HD. not anything else.
so. ahaving a custom pc has nothng to do with windows....
When you buy a new harddrive it is _always_ going to be clean and unformatted, if it isn't then you should return it.
gratz you are stupid
