How to be well prepared for a LAN!
Travel:
- Print out your travel information/confirmation mails or have them readily available on your phone for a quick check-up.
- Travel light and efficient. It’s only 3-4 days/nights. You don’t need clothes for a week and you can predict the weather nicely by checking the weather forecast online. Pack clothes accordingly.
- Pack a few plastic bags for dirty clothes and waste.
- Give your mobile number to your teammates so you and they can stay in contact
Hotel:
- If needed, bring a sleeping bag (and maybe an air matress it still fits into your bag)
- Bring a towel in case the hotel doesn’t offer enough or someone takes two
- Fill your wash bag with the stuff you need for your daily shower/refreshing (deo!, shampoo, water and box for contact lenses if needed ( glasses), toothbrush paste, etc.)
- If required, bring any medicine you must take (e.g. allergies). I always take a couple of strong painkillers and patches with me, just in case. Also some multivitamins and magnesium for quicker recovery from hangovers ;-)
- Alarm clock if you don’t have a mobile with that option. Don’t be a dick and be late for your game.
LAN:
- Hardware you need: Mouse, mousepad, keyboard, headset (or headphones mic). You only have 2 USB ports available at the front unless you want to climb up and plug in your stuff at the back ports of the PCs.
- Software you need on an USB Stick (and upload them just in case): Configs (incl. spawnscript, class selector and other stuff you might use), drivers (mouse, keyboard, headset, microphone if needed), mousestuff (hz changer, accelfix, mouserate checker, rawinput etc.). You could also export your very own mouseregistry from home and install it at the wzzrd PCs. Other than that, you might want to check your driver settings and write them down to adjust them accordingly on the LAN PCs.
- Backpack or bag to bring your gaming hardware to the LAN centre
- Please be so kind and delete your drivers, configs etc. and reset any changes you made from the computers after you are finished with playing. Makes transition for the next player so much easier.

Other:
- Money (Euros). ATM inside the cinema complex. (Automatic Teller Machine - Cash Machine)
- How much? Depends!
- Drinks inside the centre are relatively expensive (large beer 4-5 Euro, tiny softdrink 2 euro). There are supermarkets nearby where you can stock up on drinks and food. You can either leave them in your hotel room and go back there a couple of times a day to eat/drink or take them OUTSIDE of the LAN centre.
- Food: Wzzrd is offering quite a few deals and snacks. Other than that, there are 4 restaurants located right in/at the cinema centre:
- Chinese all you eat buffet for 25 Euro incl. all you can drink (alcoholics extra).
- Greek place inside the centre. You’ll end up paying 15-25 Euro here as well with 1-2 drinks. Food and portion sizes are good.
- Some café like restaurant. Been there twice, didn’t really like it. Check the menu, they offer a few different things compared to the other places
- Femi’s Pizza place. Probably the all-time favourite of the LAN goers. Pizza, pasta, shoarma, salads and other snack bar classics for normal prices.
- Camera, Mobile charger, laptop charger
- Adapter for European power sockets (if from UK or other countries with different ones)
- Check your mobile roaming options so you don’t end up paying loads for foreign internet connection
- There are fridges in the lobbies of Logica (and ofc the Eden rooms), if you need to store anything that needs to be kept cold. I’d suggest writing your name on it though. Still there will be people stealing your stuff, unless it’s only you and your team in that Logica house.
- Also Logica and Eden provide kettles and a few packs of coffee and tea.
Feel free to add some extra things in comments, if something was not listed here!

e: isn't it worth doing a system restore after you finish playing, instead of uninstalling and fixing everything?
You won't be installing anything that big anyway.
Weather wise, wait until closer to the day before choosing clothes! I think it'll be kind of cold, though.
:)
Can still change tho so better check right before you leave!
but on serious note: good read, hope the PC's are all Win7 now and not mixed up with winXP.
