Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 Charity Marathon

AGDQ, hosted by Speed Demos Archive, is an annual speed running charity event marathon featuring over 115 games. Speed runners will play continuously from January 5th-11th in order to collect donations for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. 100% of the donations go toward supporting Prevent Cancer Foundation in its mission.

Last year's AGDQ raised ~$450.000, and each year the amount of donations increases exponentially. During the marathon, donations enter you into various prizes, and can be used to determine the outcome of bidding wars.

While waiting for the marathon to start, have this inhumanly mad-skilled (that Turian section and the whole run in general has got to be one of the most impressive feats in the overall history of gaming), world record Super Metroid 100% run of a previous SDA charity marathon as a showcase of what speed running is all about.

Almost hit 100k viewers on twitch during the mildly attractive games of the first day, I imagine the views will go through the roof during the super popular games like the Zeldas, Metroids, Marios, Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kongs etc etc :p
