mp4 is made for ipod and that format is used to watch in low size and quality. MPEG-4 Man look at wikipedia.
Mp4 smoothing when colours change fast and you can only see that what is not "moving" so where are the colours stable.

At the avi you can see everything nevermind how fast something moves.

Mp4 is only the easiest format to render your movie, if you dont know anything about divx and dont know how to use avisynth they yes you will crap avi quality like 90% of "moviemakers" do it.

about u telling us that you cannot get proper quality with h264 codec. but yea as max said, go get us a tutorial with your wide knowledge of divx encoding. i do have a divx license so np for me to test it. If its only half as nice as Zaigon was (HD version) at same filesize im gonna shut up.

but yeah thats very unlikely (sry for those who want me to shut up)

nice, now im a poser. What you did wrong is simple: claiming smth that you dont know about and trying to convince ppl that know better.

Your major fault is the leak of knowledge in motion types. Thats why i linked you to the own age thread (and not like you (oh noes i dont give you links))

PS: your mb/min ratio is worse than zaigon

EDIT: but thanks for the trailer, enjoyed it.

Yes it normally is, but
Its about gamma and digital colours and you can change it by some software.

I didnt wanted to flame but it seems to be. You dont see becouse whole of movie makers are really really low. Im relaxing too making my murcelago in maya ;)

if you are as pro as you def. claim you are. why dont you just make short scene from zaigon and encode it in divx @ an acceptable filesize?

cause when it comes to encoding there is a big leak of knowledge yes, But that makes noone a low moviemaker.

my graphic card burned and have low now (antialiasing x2) and in one mounth i have new one.

Second, never encode encoded movies and you should know it.

Again a "no go" for you.(remove deblocking from movies)
And whats wrong with reencoding zaigon? Since it looks like lossless (some parts dont) it easy to save it lossless and recompress again.
But yeah we understand that you need your graphics adapter to encode movies oO.

he's asking that you re-encode a near lossless part of zaigon to divx, to see if it was the same size as the original

or hannes could upload a few seconds of a clip encoded with a lossless codec, and you can both try to encode it

i'm pretty sure x264 will produce a better result (prolly why hd movies are encoded with it). but on the other side xvid/divx is more supported, which i find the only reason why i would use it.

Oh really? So why 90% of shaolin prod. don't do their HD movies in mp4?

If you like smoothing ok its your choice, but just watch any movie in mp4 and pause it. It doesn't matter how good rate is it will always smooth.

1. compression = low size .. do you exactly know what compression is and are u sure? After saving in vegas file has 4.5GB (depend on lenght) and u need to compress it with megui to .mp4 file. Resizing is something really really different. You don't know shit so shut up and read that link from wiki...

If mp4 was made originaly for ipod apple should have a finger in the making of mp4. i cant see that they have.
