#1 - iNfensus - Other names: GMPO (post Quakecon), emaho.

iNfensus were the first team to challenge the Americans with any real severity, and boy did they almost go all the way at the first time of asking. In 2002 it was these plucky swedes that narrowly went down to United States of America Doctors in a classic match on ice, that after taking down United States of America cK in a truely epic encounter.

Online iNfensus won Eurocup 6 with a default win over the folded noll8 in an EC season that had a true allstar cast.
iNfensus would go one better in 2003, defeating GMPO in the grand finals of Quakecon, this time without any American resistance. iNfensus were a crude efficient killing machine, crusing into the final not even knowing what "loser bracket" meant.
Shortly after Quakecon 2003, the Swedes fought in a hugely competitive rtcw.no season 6, one that would go right down to the wire with 4kings & mysod challenging them all the way. Not done yet, iNfensus would go on to win Eurocup X, all be it the joke RTCW Eurocup, its another medal on the mantle, defeating KiH in the grand finale.

#2 idle
The oldest name in competitive Wolfenstein, this bunch of RTCW laggers came good with the improved netcode in ET and are now a mainstay in the community. Without any notable RTCW achievements, it was 2005 when manager galahad shocked the world and announced that they would be attending Quakecon that year.
Where that money came from remains a mystery to this day, but in 2006 they went back to improve on the third place they have achieved the year previous. They did exactly that, picking up the years previous winner in Night the team build around the estonian prescence of Night and Holz (ironically the two names associated with idle in RTCW) They charged into the grand finals, and after dropping just one map in the whole tournament, added a Quakecon gold to their list of achievements.
Online, the team waltzed to Eurocup Gold dropping only two maps in the entire season and looked like gods of the game, maybe because they are!

#3 u96d - Other names: Check6

In one 6 month period this team captivated everyones hearts. What was an all estonian lineup went under reform right before the end of Arctic eSports and Eurocup 11, picking up Sweden Ferus and Estonia Intact. Taking both online tournaments in beautiful style the team headed to Dallas, without the swede but with a powerful roster of 5 estonians and 1 slovenian. With just one map dropped it was perfection as never seen before. The estonians charged into the final and came home $25,000 richer. Possibly the shortest team in this list, simple and sweet dominance!

#4 Doctors RTCW - Quakecon 2002 Champions

Simple brilliance won this team Quakecon 2002, the team that defeated iNfensus. The team that saw United States of America Wombat take his first medal outside of Quake. They came, they saw, they conquered but thats about all folks. With only this accolade of mention to their name its very hard to place them above the other teams. The team that can lay down a claim to have beaten iNfensus on LAN is a team worth noting, and they certainly are.

#5 Rewind - Other names: Dignitas

It might surprise many ET readers to see Rewind here as a name over Dignitas, but for this group of players the achievements of Dignitas were nothing new. Eurocup 7 was to be the crowning moment of an ever underrated RTCW legend. For a team that went over 6 months (9 months according to some) undefeaten in RTCW you would have thought [<<] would have the status of iNfensus, but they live in the shadows of the swedes. When the time came to move over to ET the side picked up former Norway VSE player zenon and never looked back. Joining Dignitas and under that name not losing a single match. Dignitas absolutely dominated Eurocup 9, crushing the swedish name (not players) that overshadow their RTCW reputation. Failure to attend Quakecon in RTCW, and then their not being Quakecon ET in 2004 left this team dangling in fifth place, but these boys could be at #1. 5th place is a harsh reflection of a team that had the quality to be 1st, but LAN results, espcially those at Quakecon dominate prestige ranking.

Worthy mentions outside of the top 5

United States of America Afflication - Quakecon 2003 3rd Place, multiple online success's with the dT name in CAL & BoB.

Europe GMPO - Quakecon 2003 2nd Place, Online are half of the mysod team that won Eurocup 8.

United Kingdom 4Kings - Quakecon 2003 4th Place, Intel Masters 1st place, rtcw.no season 6 3rd. Eurocup 6 3rd.
