I want to offer up the oppourtunity for you guys to get involved with xfires future. You can create the perfect website, but without its users and its community it is nothing and xfires charm is its community.

Raza did a fantastic job in building this site, and in its current state I'm sure it could go on for some time. However its now time to move on from this position, after so long you've gotta change and innovate.

Xfire will often come in for stick from admins on a variety of sites, however people keep coming back, theres something about xfire that makes people come back. Why is that? And what would make you come back more?

I'm particularly curious about the strength of xfire in the ET community. I was an admin for xfire during RTCW, and then moved over to ET already knowing about the site. However if I had not played RTCW, how in gods name would I have found xfire? How did you find out about xfire and then, why did you register and come back?

Xfire and its community is about to hit another phase of transition. A site designed for 6on6 RTCW, is now going to hit 6on6 ET and 12 on 12 Quakewars. Those will be two hugely different communities. How do you make a site interesting for the Quakewars player who never played ET? To the same point, how do you make a site interesting for the ET player who never played Quakewars?

Myself and the xfire team have some ideas for additional functionality and features (although those arent going to be disclosed yet), and I'm looking forward to those being implemented, but it would be single minded not to ask for user input on this matter.

Xfires strengths are is its user contribution, The journals allow people to interact on a huge basis, and the forums will need to do a bigger and better job of this. But on a basic level, the journals are allowing users to share things with other users. So what would you like to share? There is the likelyhood of an xfire FTP in the not too distant future, is there a market not being hit for what your average ET player would like to upload and share?
Is there an area of things you'd like be able to share, or contribute? Has there been something you want to post on xfire and ended up journaling it because there just wasnt the right place for it?

Let me open up the floor to suggestions on this one, and whilst doing that I'm sure there will be flame regarding the downtime/security of xfire, however that is an issue that is on the top of our agenda, for any update and for its current state. So lets try to keep this as constructive as possible, any idea is a good idea so please go ahead and post them here.
