"Sweden, which occupies the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula, is the fourth-largest country in Europe and is one-tenth larger than California.

The design of the Swedish flag is likely based on the flag of Denmark; while the yellow and blue originate from the Swedish Coat of Arms which features three yellow crowns on a blue base. The cross, common to most Scandinavian flags, represents Sweden's link to other the Scandinavian countries."*

In this article, let us hope the first of many, we will be starting with a brand new interview with our Swedish superstar nordaN.
One could say this rising Swedish star has big boots to fill, after taking up the spot left open by players like LotiX, Crajsor, FeTTe and many more.

Coming from literally nowhere, Marcus has managed to turn everybody's heads in the Enemy Territory scene with his recent adventures.

Hey Marcus, you are a 20 years old fellow from Sundsvall. Is there something else you can say to our readers about yourself?

Last year I finished my army duty and after that I have been unemployed and currently studying criminology at the university, other than that I’m working out at the gym and playing computer games with my mates

What was your first experience in video gaming?

I started playing my first games when I was like 11/12 and it was mostly games like worms, Warcraft, Roadrash(<3).
Also started to play a little bit of counterstrike after that, but I didn’t understand how to install the game so I couldn’t play from my home. And that was when I started to play a little bit of RTCW-public, but the reason for playing it was simply because counterstrike didn’t work :D

Do you somehow regret not being able to play CS back then? Have you ever thought of that all the time you used to spend on ET you could’ve used to play CS and perhaps ending up being a professional gamer and let’s say playing for teams like fnatic, MYM & SK-Gaming?

Yeah definitely I do regret it sometimes. But the thing is that I can get bored of a game pretty quickly, which sucks, I can still get amazingly bored of ET sometimes, but I always come back. I think what I absolutely regret is why we didn’t continue to play CoD4, me and some other Swedish guys: NuggaN, jonas, wol, alexL and slajdan started playing CoD4 when it was new and we were pretty successful actually.

Fnatic stated in interviews that they saw our team as their toughest rivals in Sweden. We played for only about a little month or so and then we quitted because we didn’t feel it was funny anymore :x and guys who wanted to play for our team such as linqan and rivve were later on picked up by fnatic. So yeah now I absolutely regret that we didn’t continue with Call of Duty.

What about your social life do you have a girlfriend? And how would you rate yourself? Being a romantic or aren't you into all that "mushy" stuff and rather straightforward?

No I do not have a girlfriend :( I wouldn’t really say that I’m romantic, I’m afraid I guess I’m more of a straightforward type.

How does a perfect night out look like to you, hitting the clubs with friends or rather picking up a movie with a girl and dinner afterwards? Or are you more that type that likes to sit in front of your computer and chill with some friends?

A perfect night for me would be getting amazingly wasted first at some friend’s house, then go out to some club and get some people to fight against each other. Then find a nice girl and fuck her, that’s the perfect ideal night for a "norrlänning".

Enemy Territory has a long history and has always had a very loyal following. Do you understand why many tournaments don't include the game or offer very low cash prizes for it?

The biggest problem in Enemy Territory is that it is a free game and that makes it not so popular to support by the big names. Still it’s a pretty active game and it’s really way to unknown I believe, but the decision of making the game 5on5 could make it "bigger" in e-sports I think.

What are the most important elements in RTCW & ET that make you like the game more than other shooters?

The fact that it is a teamplay-based game. I enjoy the speed and the aiming-style. All new games that are released now are just shit, they only focus on things such as quality, and all they want is to attract public-players. And the games are just getting worse and worse.

You have played with some of the best players to have ever graced ET and RTCW. Who was the best player you have ever played with in a team and why?

I must say the Swedish player jonas is the best player I’ve ever been in touch with, having to know him since we played in the same team back in 2004 and seeing him getting better and better trough time. I would say he was at his top performance in 2006 and especially 2005.
Playing with him in a 3on3 couldn’t make u lose a single pracc, he was simply outstanding. He still got the skills but at the same time all players have gotten better now, but still on a good day he can really make the difference.

What is the most memorable moment in your career?

That is absolutely back in the days when we were playing in the Swedish league called "smligan", that was when Sweden had a pretty big and cool community. ET was just so much funnier and enjoyable back then, you just cant compare it to now :( Now the game is just destroyed by all the kids.

If you were sent into exile on an island full of savages, what kind of weapon from these two games would you take along to defend yourself?

panzerfaust :D
