"As you know, the biggest change made was the flag being added, this gives the allies the big benefit of being able to grab the flag before the spawn time - But this also allows the Axis team to recapture the flag and make the allies spawn back forcing the allies to think more about how they attack rather then simply plough into their opponents. Do you feel that this is a good dynamic to be added, or would you rather less thought go into both defending and attacking Frostbite, where its purely document orientated?"

Quote by fanatic of tMoeYea I think it was a good move to add flag on Frostbite. Now allies need to think how to attack with knowledge that they can suddenly lose cp. With CP axis play more defensive, focus more on documents etc (it's risky to take a covi and destroy cp), and with flag added instead of cp they are more aggressive in the game, trying to take the flag.

Quote by toxic of QueensI love the flag idea personally, as it adds a whole new strategy for both teams, mainly axis. Luckily, with good strafers in our team, we managed to run up the ladder and get the flag and selfkill on spawn, securing the 1st stage really fast. On the other hand, now axis can be alot more aggressive on their defence as the flag isn't that far away and is easily taken without the need of a covert.

Quote by jere of Power GamingThe game is more dynamic with the flag instead of the cp. As defenders its sometimes better to lose the obj temporarily and reclaiming the flag, then respawning and going to hunt obj down. Imo this is a good change to the map.

Most people liked the flag addition, or were neutral towards it. Most said that the fact it added different options and didn't make the defences so 'standard' that it was more enjoyable to play and watch.

"The back gate change was made mainly to stop one player jumping over for the allied team and letting his entire team mount a large attack on back within seconds. Forcing Allies to blow the back gate if they wish to attack that route but still allowing Axis to open the gate for quick and easy access to the transmitter - do you feel that this change was too beneficial to Axis or made it more balanced?"

Quote by rockstAr of UV-GamingIf you know how to defend back by yourself as the rest of your team defends CP, then i don't think the button makes a difference. It's not hard to shoot somebody as they try to jump a fence. So, I don't really have an opinion on the button because it doesn't affect me personally. Also if the allies are doing a big side push, they're most likely to have an engi plant the gate anyways and then later plant mines.

Quote by Baggies of WinFaktI don't think the back gate is an issue at all. If a team lets the entire other team in through the back then that's their fault, they really shouldn't be blaming the map for that. Doesn't affect balance at all imo.

Quote by saKen of OVERLOAdThe button is now semi-bugged so it definitely messed up the axis when they want to go to transmitter, assuming that could be fixed I still think it's unnecessary, any decent axis team will notice if the whole enemy team is missing and therefore will go back to defend side. If allies are hiding at main and then taking CP then good game to them and bad judgment from axis.

The general feeling towards the back change that it was not needed or that it was in general not a good change.

"The aim for these changes were to make Frostbite a bit less one sided, but also still keep it as a fairly 'quick' map, as you know LAN events require quick maps to be able to play into schedule group phases (and still using bo3) without major potential for delays. Would the changes to Frostbite be preferred by yourself in major events? or would you prefer to not play the map without these changes in the future?"

Quote by toxic of QueensI liked frostbite before as it was always exciting and fun to play. A good change from the solid trio of supply, radar and goldrush. I liked the flag change but not the back change as I didn't see it as totally beneficial. I'd love to just have frostbite with just the flag change, and see that put into competition :)

Quote by numeric of Next Evolution ESCFrostbite is very exciting map to watch by spectators which makes it a great map for lans. With decent changed frostbite might become more balanced and more enjoyable to play for players in this same time being exciting to watch for the viewers.

Quote by olBaa of Team DignitasWith these changes the map is a lot more one sided than it was before imo, it was even enough before these changes. Now axis can recap the flag it gives them extra time making allies spawn back allowing Axis to put up a solid defence at the flag again.

Most people understood that the map was needed for LAN events to make certain that the LAN was played out in time. Most people preferred the back change to remain out of future competitions but having the flag stay in as it lead to a bit more dynamic play styles.

A plan for a finalised frostbite script change will be released ASAP, leaving the back gate as it was but including the new flag change as well as fixing some minor map bugs that were noticed before or since the change. (Like when Axis build the CP at transmitter, it says Allies built the CP in console - although this is only a draw issue) Any other bugs should be directed towards me in the next couple of days to be implemented, please note that not being able to spawn down on first spawn is not seen as a bug but a feature.

It's now down to LAN events and competitions to decide if they wish to take these changes on or not.
