TosspoT - Firstly Liam, congratulations. I've possibly been your biggest critic in the past (cause you play shotgun!) and you proved everyone wrong. Are you happy to have gone out there and proved to those that doubted your teams skill in such an emphatic fashion?
Crow - Yeah there is a small sense of satisfaction about proving other people wrong, but the biggest achievement and the most important one is just winning the biggest prizepot CoD2 has seen and along with it, the most prestigious tournament out there. It was really nice to go one better than last season for me.
TosspoT - So what a turn of events, Check6 died, you went on vacation, you came back at the end of August, ran the CoD tournament at the Crossfire LAN, have been practicing Quake 4 for WSVG and some how managed to squeeze in the time to groom a winning EuroCup team? Is there anything else you can do :P
Crow - Hah, well it has certainly been a busy, busy month and I've enjoyed every minute of it. It was a shame that the first Check6 team had to die in the fashion that it did, but I'm glad that we were able to come here and do more than just make up the numbers for the tournament.
TosspoT - When Toujane went to overtime, what was going through your mind?
Crow - "Not again!!!", last year was so nerve wracking when we played Toujane against Speedlink, but its all an experience, you live and you learn. Thats what I've really enjoyed this weekend, a fantastic experience with some fantastic players. I cannot take the credit for this win, its a team, we pulled together and got the job done and had some moments that will never be forgotten!
TosspoT - Always 2nd never 1st...wait, I cant abuse you with that anymore! What does it mean to actually win
Crow - Just beating Speedlink might have been enough in some peoples eyes, or just taking second and losing to Dignitas in the final. However, we came to cause an upset and we carried that through. There was no pressure on us, nobody expected us to win, and there was even some hostility towards us before the event, so to go out and win was not even thinkable and because of that it took alot of mental strain off us.
TosspoT - Against Speedlink you dropped the shotgun and picked up an SMG, was that final admittance that there is no skill in using a shotty?
Crow - Hell no, you just mix things up to match the success or failure of your tactics and your opponent.
TosspoT - You did it the hard way, but you did it the best way. Congratulations!
