what happaned to my fps?

Hi.

Yesterday when I wanted to play some ET I noticed my fps is very bad. I use com_maxfps 90. I had no problems at all with my FPS before. I could even have 125fps in 5on5.
Now when I am alone on any server I can't even have stable 90. It drops to ~70 on some places on the map.
I already :

Checked for virus my pc. Didn't find any.
Reinstalled ET
Installed ET on another HDD.
Cleaned my PC.
Checked teperatures, everything is fine.
Did Format C.
Installed another GFX driver.
Used CCleaner.
Tried SP2/SP3.

Didn't help.

My specs:

Core2Duo E4600 2,4Ghz
HD4850 512 DDR3
2048 Mb @ 533Mhz

Any idea what else should I do?

happens the same to me and I have done pretty much the same as you, actually it happens to a lot of people and I still dont get it.

The only thing that works for me is restarting the pc and it works sometimes.
btw I have an ATI 4670 and before I had a Geforce which didn't cause problems.

I have this gfx card for a while now and didn't have any problems for long time. It happaned to one day to another.

same for me since 2 months, but in my case it's the internet provider as it seems (laggs / fps-drops).
try to lower your resolution or gfx-settings in general, might work.

So if you pull your net cable out of the modem and host your own server, your fps is good again?

somehow it's still lagging, really weird. think you'll have to live with these lags even if it's not really playable, been trying to fix that for 2 months now and did everything, nothing helped! :s

nah, but feel free to link me to "older" gpu-drivers, since I don't have a clue about stuff like that. I have a Ati radeon HD 4850..

nopb plus dont forget to kill the punkbuster clients!
im still lagging otherwise although pb is off
open taskmanager and kill "pnkbstra.exe" and "pnkbstrb.exe"

PB didn't for me before, and I tried it with NOPB server.
Killed them but no changes :/

got exactly the same problem, formatted pc, everything thats possible and still i have fpsdrops....
