Tomorrow at 1600hs, whats your prediction?
Last two times we met Brazil we lost, albeit very close. In Holland, we have a popular saying which goes "drie maal is scheepsrecht" which basically means the third time has to be right.
Realistically, I think these two teams arent very different. Brazil doesn't have the top notch team they once had. The Netherlands currently do have a very "mature" and experienced team with a lot of good options.
I have to say I am actually rather nervous right now for tomorrow :P Either one of these teams will probably be in the final once they pull through in this quarter final, which for the netherlands, would be rather epic.

also, Stekelenburg doesnt have the name like julio cesar does but i think you will be surprised when he will be put to the test
And I can return your argument about "stopping Robben" as well. Dutch defenders are mediocre and they have to be very careful if they don't want a booking while trying to stop Kaka, Robinho and Luis Fabiano. When a team like Slovakia can get so many chances against Holland, Brazil can get them as well. And Luis Fabiano doesn't miss...
Brazil defence is pretty solid with Maicon who's arguably the best on his position, Lucio (Serie A & Champions League winner) and Juan (one of Italy's best center backs) and Bastos who plays at Lyon who are quite strong in Europe as well.
Van der Sar was good after 30's goalkeepers are on there best on 30's and after.
Julio is is 30 or older i think. Even van der Sar said Stekelenburg has everything what i takes to be just as good as him. Also Stekelenburg is not cheap, since Ajax doesn't want to lose him. He isnt on the same level yet. But he has everything to be the best. And most big club allready have a good goalkeeper. Because he isnt playing with a big club doesnt mean he is a bad player. Because Brazil also has more players that are not in big clubs, Luis Fabiano Sevilla, just sub top in primera division does that say anything? Elano that failed at Manchester city.? Or what about Bastos, not even basic player with lyon About bastos, he is just midfielder. Robben will drive him crazy if he is playing. I think Dunga isnt going to let Robben play against him. Dani Alves would be better choice, since he is right so it will make sure that it's hard for robben to go to the center and shoot.
And don't get me started about Gilberto Silva, over the hill. Attacking wise, we have more quality if you talk about big clubs. Robben > Robinho, Sneijder > Kaka for sure this season, even van der vaart > kaka, i only have my doubt about van persie, since he doesnt play good. But maybe he will get the feeling against brazil. Fabiano > Van Persie atm. But players, don't say shit. The best team will win. On paper Italy France and Engeland are looking good as well. But they r shit.
you say you can return my arguments. so if you can, my point about the two teams not being very different isnt too far fetched is it. I am not saying the dutch defence is as good as brazil's, but you cant say they wont stand a chance either. You say slovakia got a few chances and yes they did. But against Italy's defence they scored three times.

Gomes > Julio, julio is just too small. Julio is just a big name, nothing more.
Those saves, saved the game for us. And he didnt had one, he had 2. And he grabbed some
corners.

That being said, there have been alot of teams winning the wc solely with close victories.
Tot nu toe hebben ze het voornamelijk van flitsen van robben moeten hebben.
EDIT: Het gaat voor hen een hele opgave worden om brazilie/duitsland/spanje/argentinie te verslaan.
Maarja 98 was zeker voor die tijd het allerbeste team, en voor die tijd de meesten kwaliteit. Bijna het hele team speelde bij de top. Maar geen geluk.
Is tijd geleden dat we ons hebben kunnen meten met zo n land.
Ik hoop alleen dat van bommel afleert om vuile fouten te maken of dat hij er eens gele kaarten voor gaat krijgen.
tja, Brazilië begon er mee. Wat hun kunnen kunnen wij ook :) Maar dan zonder ons hoofd te verliezen. Tegen de grote landen die ook vuil spelen heb je gewoon zulke spelers nodig die gewoon meedogenloos zijn als het nodig is. Onze verdedigers zijn niet zo, maar de Jong en van Bommel wel. Daarom spelen die.
Dat brazilie ermee begon, heb ik niet gezien. Het waren eerder fouten die werden gemaakt omdat de brazilianen te snel op de bal waren door van bommel. Kaka was misschien ook niet zo koosjer bezig, maar niets vergeleken met van bommel.
Italie, staat bekend om dat soort spelers. Landen als Brazilie en Argentinie ook. Duitsland ook een beetje, maar nog niet hoeven te laten zien. Spanje heeft dat niet. 2 jaar geleden misten we zo n type als van bommel tegen rusland die de boel op scherp zet en de natuurlijke leider in het team is. En als je kijkt naar van bommel de vorige wedstrijden, was een echte heer. Geen gele kaart gehad tot nu toe, alleen maar netjes de bal afgepakt. Maar gisteren wou het niet echt lukken op voetballend vlak met ons. Maar we wouden wel winnen. Dus dan maar op andere manier. Net zoals Suarez in zijn land een held is, is van bommel dat ook bij ons.
De Jong, die staat juist bekend om smerige overtredingen de laatste tijd. Maar hij wou geen geel pakken, en hij kreeg juist wel geel voor kleine overtreding dat was wel raar. Van bommel kreeg niks, van der wiel kreeg geel voor een schwalbe terecht, half uur later Kaka niks voor een schwalbe. Dusja we hadden de scheids niet echt mee. Gelukkig zag die goed wat die Melo deed. Daar had hij geen keus.
Het maakt mij niet zoveel uit hoe we het doen, zolang we maar winnen en in die finale komen en dan zien we het wel. We kunnen wel braaf mooi voetballen en fair play altijd doen. Maar kijk wat het ons in het verleden heeft gebracht op een WK.
Deze coach kiest voor degelijkheid en balans. Heel Nederland wil graag aanvallend voetbal zien. Maar heel Nederland zat te juichen toen we door gingen, dat is dan toch belangrijker. Tegen Uruguay gaat waarschijnlijk de zeeuw spelen, dat is net van bommel maar dan iets mindere versie, van bommel en de zeeuw zijn irritante spelers voor een tegenstander. Je zou natuurlijk ook van der vaart daar kunnen laten spelen. Zodat we beter kunnen aanvallen, maar onze coach kennende gaat dat niet gebeuren.
Er hangt veel af van de situatie. Als ze er echt voor hebben gevochten, ok, dan is dat positief, maar over het algemeen draait er een pak geluk in mee in zo'n gevallen.
Het is gewoon belangrijk om je slechte wedstrijden te winnen. Dan maar niet mooi, maar wel winnen.
