SLAC ??

So yeah just saw that slac is rising, some people are using it atm & stuff.

So soon enough the whole community needs to download it & put it on , on every single match & who isn't playing with it gets a ban or something?
...
Or will it be something like punkbuster server sided instead & client ?


I'm not following actually can someone please make a simple explanation?

How hard is it to write rules about SLAC? "Every player has to have SLAC turned on while playing". you dont have to thank me for my ultimate help

Correct.

And you can't connect to PB servers with Slac on, forcing servers to disable PB as well :3

yeah,thats shit,I would like to try using SLAC,but I dont want to interferate with pb - and you never know where you will meet it - pub/wrong cfg on server..

Pubs can have pb disabled too you know :P

And if you simply remove pb cfgs from server then the wrong one can't be loaded :3

used it for like...20 minutes so far? i didn't notice any different while playing on server with the nopb.cfg on it which is a pretty good sign, isn't it? :)

dl'ing atm. the question i have is the following. If i turn on slac, will it also scan the other players on the server i play on? because if that's not the case, the cheaters will just not install slac and thats it :|

I won't play on non-SLAC servers, just like I didnt play on non-PB servers before the lags.

servers will have a "server side addon" ppl without SLAC will get insta kicked & SLAC will be forced for all officials

its important that all public and private servers have this addon so cheaters will have to gtfo to another game

what gonna happen to sites like yawn or pbbans? will be there any equal or other sites for SLAC then?

Ban reason = "Banned for cheating"
Periods/Punishement = 12months minimum by SLAC and by CB, server admins running public servers can decide to increase the banlenghts for cheaters
banned accounts will be "flagged" as cheater accounts for ever

SLAC will work on its own, the banlist will be on their site

yes, standard 12months always and then the amount of months the server admin wants to add, even permanent bans.

in the cb config this will be forced to sl_banlength 0 so they get 12 month bans like on CB

random public servers can do w/e they want to cheaters, we will have servers with "ETPro SLAC On - we double banlengths" or "ETPro SLAC ON Server - Cheaters are banned forever!" etc

for CB wars, this won't be possible, CB admins will decide how long they get banned for (i.e: 12months) = sl_banlength 0

it will be just like the nopb5.config, you put it on the server and the command will be forced

+ would it be running in the background or for e.g. you can run it via a config like SLAC5v5.cfg and if for whatever reason you didn't want it on then load a diff config? I'm guessing it'll just be running in the bg though similar to the way etadmin mod is \o/
