been there done that ez.
German

easy
not rly, its just old and did it long time ago. the easiest way to solve is making a table with all possibilites.

You've failed the test then, Amigo. :)

Who says that the German keeps a fish? Simply filling in information that you don't have because you assume that he has the fish because there is no one left. What if he keeps snakes or something like that?

That's the real solution to this test...
there is mentioned that each of them has 1 pet, and the question asks which 1 has the fish
Parent
There is no piece of hint that says the fifth guy has to have a fish. There is no piece of information where all animals are listed that exist in this riddle.

"...keep a certain pet"

You've got fooled by the question. It's like asking "I have a black cat that likes to eat fish. It weighs 5kg. How long is its tail?" You simply can't solve it with the information given, but with this one you're actually fooled into thinking you can just fill in the blanks with fish. :)
Parent
youre trying to be smart instead of solving the riddle, but you fail.
Parent
the tail would be 26 cm long since they had to amputate 3cm of the tip.
Parent
"Are you sure that the German has a FISH ? Isn't it possible for him to have a TIGER ? Who say that the fifth pet should be a fish ? "
Parent
question says that
Parent
No, you're simply quite too ignorant to see that Einstein fooled you. What would making a diagram have to do with deductive reasoning? Aside that, your other claim...

Yellow -> Water, Dunhill, cats, Norwegian
Blue -> Tea, Blend, Birds, Dane
Red -> Coffee, Pall Mall, birds, Brit
Green -> Coffee, Prince, fish, German
White -> Beer, Blue Master, Dogs, Swede

I still stick to my solution... especially because of Einstein's quote:
"The important thing is to not stop questioning."

first thing i thought is that its a trap. nowhere does it say that the 5th pet has to be a fish... so how in the hell do u know if any of them actualy has a fish. the only way u know is process of elimination that the one left must have a fish since the question sais, who has the fish?

nowhere in any of that writing does it say anyone has to have a fish its a pretty simple riddle lol. the answer is simply that it has to be the only remaining person with a blank to be filled in which is the german because all other blanks have been filled in. that missing blank doenst have to be the fish it could be anything.

the reason eintein did this is to keep the world questioning everything. there isnt an answer. i googled to find this bit out.

so do i get a cookie for answering the riddle in a matter of seconds?
Parent
Same riddle, but the question is " Who lags?! "
Parent
but thats not what the riddle is getting at at all
Parent
This guy hasn't written the complete riddle in here. It also has a written quote by Einstein that says "The important thing is to not stop questioning".
Parent
yea i agree wit u. i googled after i thought what the answer was and i was right tbh. i thought that there must be 1 blank to fill in at the end. this blank could be anything it doesnt have to be the fish. since nowhere does it say that anyone has to own a fish.

such a simple riddle.
Parent
Norwegian
Nope, the Norwegian's got cats. Try again :)
Parent
I just wrote the first nationality that I saw anyway :D

German
i solved this when i was about 10 years old.

Parent

Parent

i heard einstein conceived this idea shortly after the theory of relativity
einstein didnt invent the theory of relativity for start.
Parent
You did, eh, smartass ?
Parent
galileo did years before einstein did. einstein just furtherd galileos research after he died. einstein didnt 'invent' anything he just furtherd other peoples research and did it very successfuly.
Parent
'for a start'? what did you have to follow that up with?

i'm not going to pretend i know the history of einstein's theories, but if einstein's credited for it, which he is, your comment can lick my balls
