Don't want to start an endless debate, but if you read specialized books about cinema, different movie rankings, if you ask film critics about they would pick as their best movies ever, like 99% of 'em will give you movies dating from the black and white period, the closer you get to the present, the lower the people who knows much about cinema's taste go
That only makes sense if you've actually seen those old movies back in the old days. Now those movies are harder to judge because you don't know how renewing they were. Imo you're just a kid who thinks he's better than everyone else because he "likes" old movies, gives you a feeling of superiority.
