The Regionals

A lot probably remember the clash between South-Europe and Scandinavia? West Europe vs. East...
Well i'm planning to make a European Region cup again but i need some advice first. What european countries should play for region X?
How would you call every region,... Please help me to make a good choice.

Thx in advance & more info soon!

Some important stuff to know:
- 1 Day Cup (prefer sunday)
- Max 8 regions
- Min 4 countries / region
- European only

Europe United we stand, divided we fall?

ps: I'm not asking for lineups!

Hi, Ireland exists. Also, Finland isn't in Scandinavia, you should rename that to 'Northern Europe'.

So why include it with UK then? Why not include Spain with Portugal, let's call it the Iberian Peninsula. Let's put all the CIS countries together too.

Because it would've surprised me if there would be one Irish player in the Western Europe squad.

Because both countries will supply Southern Europe with players, and Italy doesn't belong to the Iberian Peninsula, that's why.

3) Let's put all the CIS countries together too.

In the past 2 competitions it was a rule that one person from each country had to be picked, since you only registered 7 months ago I guess you wouldn't know that. Also, it's Western Europe, but I doubt you care since any kind of factual accuracy means nothing to you.

No, I didn't miss your point, you missed mine, you feel UK should incorporate Ireland in the Western Europen section (even though Ireland isn't in the UK), why not put Spain and Portugal together as Iberian Peninsula in the Southern Europe section, same principle.

Indeed, I never experienced a Region-Cup (or whatever it is called) so I dont know all the rules.

And thanks for the correction, I sometimes take over dutch words/spelling to other languages. I'm not flawless.

Because Spain AND Portugal both will supply players. Ireland will not supply players in my proposition of regions (UK, Benelux, France, Ireland) so it is not necessairy to mention them as a stand-alone country (see, I take dutch "spelling" to the english again).

Sometimes perhaps, mostly not. 'Northern Europe' would also fit in better with the other region names, and it's more accurate.

how about adding "benelux" as a region? And perhaps british islands... France could go to south europe or smth, just ideas :)

btw, you should force teams to use at least one player from each country from their region, if possible... else it would be a lot like NC

ok dutch NC team will play then, they won NC and are therefor the best mix-team out there -.-. no it feels wrong if noone from your country is representing you. every country has at least 1 EC worthy player, only the real small countries dont, so there is the exception.

I agree,benelux should be 1 region,same for "UK" island...

But 1 player from each region? thats pretty hard to have...then u would have 3 players from benelux?:> Also,I dont know any serbian et player.

just take north, west, central & east than. If u watch those 4 and than Balkan & southeast there is a lot of differene between them so just put those last 2 teams out.

its like saying greece can play against scandinavia => no chance; u can better put finland apart as a natian than:)
