If you are planning to install Windows 7, don't do it!
Worst O/S on the earth.
Can't disable mouse accel, yeah there are programs for it, but they dont work.
Can't set your refresh rate over 85 hz, yeah there are programs for it, but they don't work.
You will have huge fps lags, like 30% less fps.
You will lag like shit.

Refresh rate problems are usually easily fixed by installing the "regular" drivers instead of the default WDM drivers supplied by Windows 7.

you can remove accel with those .reg files, you can set displayrefresh to whatever u like and for me, it doesnt "lag"

My face when you just suck.

Stable 125 in every map, no mouse accel (got it away by unticking a single checkbox in control panel), refresh rate can be set as high as your monitor supports (as with every other OS) and whatnot.

Oh, and while you're there, a friendly tip:
Install ET anywhere except in C:\Program Files. Install it somewhere like C:\Games or whatever, just not under Program Files or Program Files (x86). It'll save you from a lot of trouble.

My ET is installed on another partition than my windows is.
How comes my monitor should be able to pull off 120 hz @ 1024x768 but I can't go over 85hz in Win7?
How comes I disabled acceleration in Win7 but I can still feel it?
How comes I had 125 stable fps with XP and have 70 with Win7?
How comes I never had network problems with XP and I lag like shit with win7?

The refreshrate is because the monitor tells the system it can only do 85Hz. Go blame the manufacturer for this. You're going to need some program that can force it to run at higher refresh rates - such certainly do exist for Win7, and you might even be able to do it in your video card drivers. It was the same for XP too.

As for the others, duh herp. I blame it on user-error, and I'm quite sure I'm correct on this one.

PS: Use rinput to get rid of the ET-induced acceleration. Windows 7 is not to be blamed of the game being relatively poorly designed on this part.

I didn't have to do anything on XP, I only had to set 1024x768 and 120hz on monitor settings. No other bullshit programs needed. Works like charm.
Windows 7 fails.

A lot of windows 7 fan boys here. Pros of win 7: good search, better plug and play support. Everything else is worse/on par with XP.
