Puretrak & DA = Shite?!

Heyo

So im playing with a deathadder (3.5g) and puretrak pad for a quite a while now but it doesnt seem to be a great combo for tracking.! It never bothered me with playing ET but i've started playing more quake recently and the mouse tends to skip/flip whenever I move the mouse really fast (happens a lot with rocketjumping).

Is this a known issue because i read it was a good combo actually.. The mouse is at 500hz since I cant get 1000hz stable, also I have two mousefeet on top of each other maybe that doesnt help either? :p It doesnt skip on my qpad, but i cba used that..

he just said deathadder skips, thats like a direct insult to me bruw
Parent
nigga plz, i rape everyone with my puretrak + DA ! no but seriously, i have no problems tracking at all
do you use the 3500dpi one? i dont remember having it with my 3g da
Parent
i play 450 dpi/500hz anyway screw high dpi =p
Parent
same here, but the 1800 and 3500 have a different sensor that's why I wonder
Parent
he was asking for DA version, not playing dpi ^^
Parent
well having double mouse feet would decrease your effective lift off distance might not be helping, probably not the whole problem though
buy microsoft intelli mouse 3.0
I use DA , 1000hz 450dpi and ulti-mat
either idd the mouseskates or just 3.5g failing(though I dont remember abyssus skipping)
could also try rotating the pad by 180 degrees and see if it helps or try updating firmware
Thats what I find weird, I taught they fixed the 3.5g's problems with the latest firmware (which I have).. There's quite a few quake players with abyysus and cloth pads so they would normally have the same problem.
Parent
it was idd the double mouseskates - now i just need to get used to the shitty lod :_)
Parent
you can adjust it if you open the mouse and put some paper or smth between led and lens prism to reduce the light intensity and it might not result in skipping like when you put double skates
Parent
I read about that yes and to me it doesnt seem like a good idea, you put a filter between it and I can only imagine it decreasing the mouse's capicity tbh.. putting a filter between led and surface OK but in front of the lens nah... I guess ill just deal with it! thanks though
Parent
i mean between the lens which is used to concentrate color from led through prism on the surface, for example like:

ofc i don't mean putting smth in front of sensor lens as some ppl do
Parent
Yeah got the same with same mouse and pad. 1000hz&450dpi, also got hyperglides on top of the old skates so could be that...
Check your mouseskates. I noticed in some point my tracking was jerky as well and at that point my mouseskates were completely worn off (which they still are, too poor to buy new ones)
I also had a deathadder, it sucks that you have to put double mouseskates on it cause otherwise it scrapes
The 3.5G DA is just a shit mouse imo. I've got one and a puretrak talent, and it's awful on everything you can just never feel in control of your crosshair whatever you play.
i got puretrack also and da 1800 and no problem here :s
Parent
idd, my new ime3.0 feels better but tracks the same..
deathadder shit grip
ime shit light
Parent
That's Razer for you. If by some freak accident they make a good mouse. They quickly discontinue it or remake it into something terrible.

Diamondback -> Diamondback 3g
Deathadder -> Deathadder 3.5g
Krait -> Discontinued

Luckily I've got many of the old versions stashed away in my cupboard :D.

Hmm i really like the feeling actually, but yea Ive been playing with a da since I started gaming pretty much.. In what way do you think other mice like mx518 or ime (have those as well) feel better?

Can you make your DA skip on the puretrak pad btw?
Parent
I can't make it skip, but I also have an mx518 and im3 and I use a deathadder 1800 DPI (I'm on my 2nd atm). You can notice the difference upon plugging in an IME3 @ 1000Hz or MX518 immediately. With the 3.5g DA it's incredibly difficult to feel in control of your crosshair and if you want consistency you need to be in control you can't rely entirely on reflex.
Parent
I have way more feeling of control with the DA compared to the MX imo.! I never gave the IME a change though because I have it with stock mousefeet and well they're useless. Might give it another chance to shine if I cant fix the problem with my DA though =) Most of the time you cant really boost it up to 1000hz stable though, right?
Parent
The IME3 can do 1000Hz stable definitely. Whether you will get that is subject to many different conditions. For instance on windows 7 I had 1000Hz on my deathadder stable, on windows Xp when set to 1000Hz it gives me 500Hz stable (refuses to go higher than 500Hz even). There's not much logic to computers when hardware/software can cause many subtle variations.
Parent
+1 to the last sentence.. I used to be able to get 1000hz with this very pc but after a windows reinstall (same OS) it wont work anymore

Oh and removing one pair of mouseskates fixed my skipped problem in case you're interested, now I just have to deal with the huge LOD
Parent
yeah my Qpad has a much lower lift off distance compared to the pure trak talent, you pay for the good tracking sadly :P
