After that much reactions due to my ignorance about Star Wars, I was wondering what was so cool about these movies.
I remember playing a demo of one of these computer games a few years back, but I never really watched any of the movies and I never felt attracted by them either.
Maybe someone would be cool enough to tell me what it's all about and why it has that much success.

Made my day. :D
MUST BE BELGIAN!!!!!!!!!
it was groundbreaking. not only in film graphics, but the storyline was gripping, it had carachters a young guy could buy into and believe, there was a whole franchise around after the release with action figures (i got these for like 4 xmas's in a row) and if im honest, ive always loved the original series of films to this day.
the newer films were, hmmmmmm, not too great, revenge of the sith was decent, but overall , dissapointing as an add-on series of films , cashing in on the originals popularity. an entire generation (including myself) absolutely had to see the 2nd release films, as well as the remastrered films as they had "never before scenes" and cgi enhanced add ons. unfortunately, it was just cashing in again (fuck you goerge lucas you girl).
watch them if you can, but to be honest, compared to films of today, cgi and graphics will be laughable for you. but the storyline back in the 70's, for a wide-eyed young kevlar, was fucking great :D
nerd - off.
(tl-dr) :D
Aren't they in plan to remake the original one more to the nowadays gfx's?

Try star wars 4,5 and 6
It looks shit anyway, but I'm downloading tho
But yeah, was huge star wars fan but after episode 2 I just couldnt watch it. Never seen episode 3 in my life either :D
first came star wars IV, then V, VI
later came the newer movies star wars I, II and III
this is the one ure supposed to watch
thats the one everybody's been talking about how awesome, life changing it is
and it really is
its a movie u must have seen
and there are plenty of other old ass movies which are awesome movies
even black white movies
get over the fact that it looks shit, just get into the story
you will love it ;)
It was something like the lotr-movies I suppose
even when the movie stars with those letters and the music he goes: LOOK SON LOOK HOW AWESOME THIS IS.
Life changing for me, same as with Tron, that i did see and i was like, forget about John Wayne and shit, this is the deal :)
How many Bruce's are you fan of? :/
Then Episode 1 / 2 / 3
really. The movies are fucking awesome. But hey, its the same thing as with old games. you might be newschool and you don't like bad graphic games.

Is that what I'm supposed to watch?
I am talking about older games. For example.. go youtube ragnarok. Your reaction will be "haha who would like to play that". Well let me surprise you. Game is awesome. Not cuz of graphic ofc.
Same with starwars movies. Watch them and then you will see why its so hyped.
p.s. i m your father
:XD
btw best scifi movie ever
Still don't know if it was a regrettable move or not, at least I'm glad I didn't miss out on Pokemon and Zelda.
to each his own i suppose...
Man, you fucking know the classics! <3
zelda ok but pokemon...
I owned one of these !!!
So utterly awesome.
pretty sure i didnt miss anything life changing
Yeah this journal is bullshit. :P
They are great films if you are capable of enjoying sci-fi movies. It's no coincidence an entire franchise and tons of games have been made around these movies. Some which are very good at recreating the same feeling as in the movies (can't remember all the names, but ive played loads :D)
It's one of the few typical sci-fi/fantasy trilogies being made into a great film, hence its success imo. Just like with lotr.
its escapism, a release from your day. an exciting / horrifying / funny / dramatic / scarey / thrilling way to enjoy 2 hours of your day.
id never say someone was dumb or wrong for liking or not liking a movie that i dont like. i love movies, always have and always will. if you dont, hey, no big deal, EACH TO THEIR OWN. we all watch them though, good or bad and always have our own opinion. i love movies, pass the fucking popcorn bitch :D
now shortly, you know what.
So yes, you have missed something.
