Good morning crossies,
some might remember the post i made a few weeks ago:
http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=journal&mode=item&id=122450
Since i started playing Starcraft again, i am totally addicted to mechanical keyboards :D
I started using a older DasKeyboard II meanwhile with Cherry MX blue switches, not the IBM Model M anymore. But now i just recived my ZOWIE Celeritas (with Cherry MX brown switches) :D
I really wanted to order a Filco Majestouch, but when i spend 150€ on a keyboard i want it to have a german layout at least... and german Filcos won't be shipped by mid May... if at all.. so i decided to buy the Zowie Celeritas.
So i wanted to share this... and ofc show off for my ePenis @ crossfire :D
gold contacts:
Game Mode (Windows Key is disabled and has "Ctrl" on it):
Windows Mode:
Cherry MX browns:
First Impressions:
Cherry MX browns are feeling great so far. I used a DasKeyboard II with Blues before. They are a bit softer and do not have that "click + clicky point" like the blues... but they definitly feel great.. i would say even better for playing StarCraft than the Blues... but i guess that's just personal likes or dislikes.
The Zowie also feels great, heavy and solid case, some very long "rubber-lips" on the back side... and i mean veeeeeeeeeeeery long... guess it will never ever slip away by any mistake.
One little thing i dislike so far is that the signs on the keys feel like some sort of rubber or something, not lasered... so we will see in the future if they go away or get dirty quite fast or anything... but for all the rest, the keyboard feels just great !
So i'm off now, gotta play :D
P.S.
The Zowie Celeritas has a "RTR Technology" btw, which means you can increase the repeat response time from a key by times 8.
P.P.S.
I am aware i'm having a serious fetish :D

dude you need a life
[irony]OMG really useful[/irony]
and well about the money... who cares :D
and i am having a fetish for mech keyboards :D :D :D ... even thinking about buying one for work :D
Same goes to things like football. If you play a lot of football, you're probably going to spend 150€ on good football boots, maybe even more.
That gold contact thing is a bit useless, though, as that external "shield" of the USB isn't actually the part that takes contact, but instead the pins inside the cuboid-shaped connector are. But of course it looks nice :-P
...hmm...
I can fap to this
*fap* *fap* *fap*
..
Is that still the very original DKT pad (before they printed it on the Titan)? Those were nice :[
and well i wanted the hardware layout to be german... i want the keys to have ä ö ü etc :D
Also am I the only one how likes having the windows key active when I play games? I can't imagine anyone accidentally hitting it, I just use it to quickly get to my desktop when I'm in game.
