Nope, havent had any problems. Though I didnt graduate.

EDIT: For what did you graduate? And from what uni you get out at the age of 20?
Computer Science

And mostly theoretical skills, thats the best thing about my course really.
Parent
What subject did you graduate in? Generally I think the average student that comes out of university in the UK brings very little to the work place.

Edit

Alright, I browsed your website - you actually have taken on what looks like a real degree with some interesting projects. How is your 3rd year project going? Reading the brief the GPU stuff looks interesting, how familiar/competent are you with that and with video encoding? Where are you based outside of uni? I might have an oppourtunity for you!
Doing Computer Science at Southampton Uni'

Yeh GPU programming is really cool, I've being using it for Ray Tracing and its given a massive speed boost. I've never really done video encoding but considering my maths skills and that I still want to learn outside Uni' then I'm sure I can learn & become familiar fairly quickly.

I'm currently based in Bournemouth but of course I can move if needed.

Tell me more :p :)
Parent
Bournemouth's awesome! Lived there for 14 months and just went back last wednesday for a weeks holiday :)
Parent
yeh its a nice place but no nerd jobs around here :( :p
i'm going to miss relaxing on the beach like I did yesterday afternoon
Parent
i was there on tuesday afternoon :)
Parent
u need to start with internship we have lot of students here all started like this..

gl!! what kind of job btw??!
Yeh I worked for google last summer for 3 months doing development work.

I'm graduating in Computer Science.

I might need to take a year's internship just to get some experience but Google was really good.
Parent
well i finished uni then quit my job :D
you could become a babysitter with them skills you've acquired.
Parent
!:D

E: then there would be some variation in the baby's as well as the things he puts on their heads :D

At least in Finland you have hard time to find a job if you studied some of the boring subjects like economics, IT or most kind of engineering-work.
Last year 3 of my friends went to intern at bank, got jobs there after graduation and part-time through rest of the studies. So I guess it depends about the person.
Parent
It does :) Especially in economics.. there are lots of free jobs but also lots of people willing to take them. ;P
Parent
The "boring subjects" are the jobs needed the most in a good performing economy but I guess Finland cant be seen as that...
Parent
Maths are needed in every-day life but I find it boring also. Stop being butthurt and don't try to diss the master race, thats pathetic.
Parent
Master race?

Pic explains all. Fins are master.

3 interviews 2 job offers, business informatics

but now im idling in master courses and working in a research project :p

e: ger/ch
I can't wait to graduate..... oO That feeling that the past 3 years may not be worth it in reality! :D

Oh well, just finishing first year, going over to the states next year to work on my second year media project which should be great, hopefully get some contacts!

Good luck!
Im hoping the job market will pick up by the time i graduate :)
:) i think im all done by 2013 so hopefully it will! Right time to revise got my first year exams in about 12 days!
Parent
we all dead 2012 coming hehe
Parent
i dont fear death!
Parent
Yeah same here. I don't have exams on my degree, it's all project based which I enjoy!

Good luck for yours!
Parent
ah cool fair enough its about half projects half exams for me what uni are you at?
Parent
I'm at Coventry studying Media Production and Film. I couldn't be bothered moving away from home!

What about yourself?
Parent
cool fair doos, i didnt move to far away either to be honest, im down at Plymouth studying Geography! which actually is suprising good. The night life down here is mental!

I'm also looking for graduate jobs, and its an absolute nightmare really. I guess the key is applying to as many as possible you're interested in, but when the applications take so long its numbing to say the least. If you're not already using it you might consider www.gradcracker.com, its primarily for engineers I think but I've noticed plenty of comp sci jobs on there.
If you're failing at interview stage then it can't hurt to get some proper advice from the careers office. I know my careers/engineering department offers interview workshops too.
well 1 job was 'filled internally' and other one said I was a bit too negative but I was good enough technically. I probably do need some guidance but I've found the careers office(s) useless.

One of them told me to take Art at A-level so I could become an architect which was just silly advice since I only took Art at GCSE for enjoyment and I didn't want to be an architect.
Parent
Just keep going then I guess, I can't believe someone with a google internship and your credentials can stay unemployed for long.
Parent
i know man it sucks :p
Parent
I'm going to start looking again after I finished my exams, when i graduated the first time I was a bit lazy on the job searching front, but i developed some webdesigning and programming skills i didn't have before. But this time I really need to get a job as soon as possible so I can move out :).

Bsc Mathematics and Computer Science (University of Birmingham)

Msc Computer Graphics, Vision, and Imaging (UCL)

Hoping to get a job in special effects companies primarily, but going to have to see whats going.
Sounds similar to what I did
Parent
If you dont mind leaving United Kingdom try to apply in Germany, a lot of (international) companies are desperatly looking for decent CompSci guys.
I would love to work in Netherlands but I did study Germany at school

thanks I'll have a look
Parent
In a lot companies you wont need good german skills, in some you dont need any.
My dad got some United Kingdom and Anonymous guys working for him which dont speak a word german...
Parent
Pakis and niggers? :PPPP
Parent
yeah, i guess u need to learn german, as nobody (especially the older generation) speaks a single english word over here :) guess its ok if u`re speaking turkish :D

if u don`t mind snow, being alone and no sunshine then think about going to norway, i think they always have some great job offers and they pay really, really (damnit REALLY) good!!

and the landscape and the ladies make everything up!
Parent
Had some problems at the start but thn the company i did my internship at asked me to come work for them :))
im jurnalist and im happy hippo
journalist* ":D"
Parent
okey mr. grammar :/
Parent
Okay Mr. Journalist. :p
Parent
Just finished my first semester, but I expect the same to happen to me tbh :/
in my 3rd year now Studying Business and these 3rd year exams are no joke. Doing a masters degree next year aswell since what i want to do really requires a masters degree and even post masters qualifications so im going for it.

60 % of my course failed to get a placement as part of the degree in 2010. 40 % failed in 2009 and 30 % in 2008. Double the amount of people didn't get a placement in 2 years.
lolol u uk guyz so stoopid uni ez ROFL
Parent
uni is easy lol even 3rd year coursework isnt hard for me its the exams which are :>

most of the ppl who graduates here in romania, are starting to look for a job in the western countries.only few succeed in finding a job in which they are qualified and deserve to work in.most asked by employers are job in engineering,it and comunications, doctors.however in romania many ppl are dropping off uni during 1st or 2nd year because of finnancial problems,or because they know they can t find a job ,so is just a big waste of money...
well here in the United Kingdom students next year will have to pay £9000 PER YEAR of study (10,000 euro ??) in tuition fees. Over a lifetime they are expected to pay back about £80,000 so soon students will be dropping out here too because it won't benefit them.

I think alot of people take degrees but don't use them directly. It just proves you have a certain academic ability, can focus on something for 3/4 years and shows you have certain skills.
Parent
I will give you a job.
Parent
give me one too.i do anything except cleaning toilets.i m not that low :P
Parent
Cleaning the floor I am about to walk on? The pay is good @ £2.31 an hour + benefits such as seeing me everyday!
Parent
ok i ll do it.i have no problem with low jobs.i m not arrogant.but i want also free lunch every day and a pack of cigarettes :D
Parent
I cannot afford to even give you this right now! In the process of trying to buy a house, which in the UK is a pain in the arse.
Parent
i think is everywhere if u are poor
Parent
that surprise me,cause i have couple of friends, actually married couple who left romania for good, live in london and got english citizen.he is a teeth doctor and she is an english teacher (lol).they actually found jobs in uk very easily....perhaps just luck idk.but in romania yea, many youngers think why da fuck to spend so much money on uni, when i can t get the respected job i want after i graduate anyway
Parent
I think its easier for foreign people to find jobs here :p

I'm studying Hospitality Management in Malta and went over to Bournemouth to do my 1 year internship (paid). Started off as a shitty waiter but worked myself up to Bar Manager.

I'll be graduating in June so I just sent out my CV to major hotels in Malta. Sent them out last week and I've already had 3 job interviews. 2 of which the job is on the table for me, and the other, is between myself and another candidate.
Out of these 3, 1 is a shitty position, so I won't be taking it. Another is for a Manager position while the other is Junior Manager, so I've been pretty lucky when it's come towards finding jobs :P
you can be manager of my cock, no interview needed, you can start next monday xo
Parent
woop woop bournemouth :)
