the movie reminds me of Shakal / Shackal / Schakhal (dunno the english name) - anyway the assasin movie about guy attempting to murder C. DeGaulle

correct! I prefer both them (old and new) over taxi driver - I think the atmosphere is better (taxi driver is so sad person :<)

true that, but since its a matter of opinion I prefer the assassin thing! the movies also had more "planning and preparing" which I love (for example in ocean's movies, etc)
