Well been here (France) for some time now and last night when we went out to party not even a single person knew that the championship games were going and only one person knew what ice hockey actually is and Frances Canal+Sport only had a line of text about the match ( Finland - Sweden 6-1) nothing else..
yea i don't disagree, i guess our sports headlines are all taken up with the premiership title being won by MAN Utd and the FA Cup being won by Man City then after that its random football stories, i cant find a single mention of it on the bbc site http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport
No, I am right. Finland has played twice against uk and lost both games. So Finland has never won against uk. When theyve won atleast once against every other team theyve ever played against.
but you say: uk is the only country we havent beaten yet in icehockey, well you didn't beat Belgium yet nor Holland for that matter! (the fact they don't play icehockey is irrelevant)
there were some news while germany still was in the tournament, but not really mainstream news either. And the victory of finland wasn't more than a little picture box on the main page of germanys biggest news site. The German football season also ended on saturday, so that might have taken a lot of attention.

sorry to be so straight but: russia sucked whole tournament. that's just fact. with that material they should've done so much better, for example ovesthkin 0+0 in 5 games. they were soloing all the time, no teamwork at all.
basicly what i said, team sucked except for radulov kovalchuk and the third dude, they had somewhat teamplay, rest sucked, ovechkin biggest dissappointment of the year both in NHL and WC
I think kovalchuk had some nice games, always trying to pass and find ways of play, not like he was few years ago. This time it was ovechkin skating into the zone, loosing puck, opponent scores :(

Ja jij ook vieze gothic! I know finland has less inhabitants, 3,2 times less, given your info is correct and my math lessons have paid off. But for example Helsinki, has almost as many inhabitants as Amsterdam or Rotterdam. So large scale events can't be that rare there right? I mean I live in a place with 30k people or so, and next week there is an event where will be around 50k people. And I'm not saying that parties with more people are always better, it really doesn't matter if there is hundreds or thousands of people for me, some parties with only a few hundred are the best.
congrats to Finland !! and lol @ people claiming they go to parties where 50k ppl don't mean anything, finland is not as populated as germany NL UK France etc I thought people would use their brains this time
