I honestly still don't get how a shitload of people link 'Playing on friday' to 'Being a nerd'

Maybe you're all 16 year olds or something, but where I live the students (University, high school, 18+) go out on tuesday and thursday mostly, and the school kids go out on friday and most students are at home fridaynight.

what has playing on a friday night have to do with being a nerd ? students party on thursdays, perhaps we partied yesterday?? friday is not the official night for going out, thus we cannot be considered nerds for playing on a friday
