Betting on SAGE LAN?

Just wondering if people would be interested in real money betting on the ET competition at SAGE LAN? I'm doing a few things with Paddy Power (www.paddypower.com/esports) to get odds on Esport events and am wondering if it's something that the community would be interested in?

What would be the ruling on "who is allowed to place bets"? Surely the players themselves aren't. Anyone who has not registered as a player to the same event & is not hosting it?

Players are allowed to bet - we encourage the top teams to bet on themselves. If there was anything "dodgy" going on it would get flagged up, there are limits on the amount you can bet to avoid match fixing etc.

Obviously we wouldn't want Next Evolution betting on WinFakt to win the event, but there'd be no problem with a lower seeded team such as enhanced betting on Anexis.

That's a terrible idea if you ask me. People may do unrighteous things for a buck or two, and being allowed to bet on your own match clearly leaves room for that.

We aren't doing individual matches just yet, only the outright winner of events. In future we're looking to do more different markets like certain matches, but as you say, we don't want to risk match fixing or anything like that.
