virus > me

i had some shit virus,i ran some program to get rid of it, it did get rid of it, but now i cant run any exe programs..i cant run slac cant run steam

when i double click slac/steam it says choose a program you want to open this file with..
So what do i have to do to fix this shit..?

the virus is taken care off,but before i deleted it, i think it damaged some of my files which start up exe files,so im wondering is there any way to fix that

virus doesn't need internet, that's just that in normal mode, the virus could be loaded faster than the antivirus, then block it own detection (run with drivers, startup etc ..)

hey dude, i had the file to fix it on another pc :D

it's a registry file, so when u run it, repairs ur modified registry. The thing is, the virus changed ur .exe registry path to be opened with it. So now that ur virus is out, windows doesnt know how to open any .exe

Meanwhile, u might want to try it manually(instead of using the file with the same code), here are the steps:


1. Start >> Run -> Write "cmd"
2. At the black window write "regedit" and press intro.
3. At the registry, go to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command"
4. Double click on "Default" so you can now see another window. This textbox has probably a bad path/info. You have to put there this path---> "%1" %*

u just failed :D with that virus u cant open registry, it asks u what .exe must be run. And you obviously go faster by opening a msdos window and writing regedit, which works.
