Friend on a night out in Croydon just updated this on his iphone to facebook

Unbelievable scenes in Croydon.all the train stations have been closed. It's like a third world country out here. All the shops have been looted or burnt down im just running to find a cab somewhere, fire and smoke is all over Croydon. cars, bins on fire. I can see people breaking into houses. its insane here.

People in Croydon are crying for Marshall Law

My friend who lives in South Croydon said all the shops have been broken into a gutted. This road is quite a few miles long, electrical stores, bike shops supermarkets etc. This is fucking crazy, I want to do something but I feel so powerless. The police are literally just watching or at other parts of Croydon.
