New laptop and r_mode

Hi !

My new laptop is 15,6 (1366x768)

I tried r_mode -1 with custom settings :
r_customwidth "1366"
r_customheight "768"

and i got this :

i tried to change resolution in game by changing r_mode in my autoexec but it seems to do not work.

Help me plz :D

SOLUTION :
- format C and install proper windows 7 lolz
- install drivers
- install the fix from hp : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02948560

maybe somewhere else in your cfg is written r_customheight but with an other height

I already have the '"default' driver installed (03/2011). So i went to amd website to download drivers ... My card is radeon hd 6490M. So here is what i found :

downloaded 64 bits version since my windows is 64 bits. It told me when i try to install that my video card or something is not compatible with the driver ... so i tried with the 32 bits version, and same.

I tried the auto detect thing : http://support.amd.com/fr/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx
It told me to download the same driver i have already tried, so i do it again and still incompatible video card blablabla ...

I don't know wht to do :-(

I tried to upload driver from the image: diskmgmt-Generic-SCSI-Enclosure2 but i still can't launch the game -.-

I think you didn't read it correctly or not at all. Any driver for the HD 6490M doesn't work and tell me it is not compatible with my graphic card. After some search, i'm not the only one with this problem.

ahaa i just found the solution :)

It is because amd didn't support switchable graphics, and we (from hp at least) have to update bios, then both drivers with fix from hp. Now the switchable graphics should work with opengl. ;)

No proper OpenGL support I assume.

Besides, you probably have double-defined your mode somewhere or your configs are not being properly loaded, because:

Check your refresh rate, set it @ 60hz. Should work.

I mean @ ET, not at desktop :p

Anyway your problem is at any of the two profile configs (etmain and etpro folders) which keeps a bad resolution.

So:

1º Delete your configs located in:
-etmain/profiles/mamouth/etconfig.cfg
-etpro/profiles/mamouth/etconfig.cfg

2º Open ET(it will look as default)

3º Exec your config

4º Should work

iy's trying to use r_mode 4 for some reason, double check ur config

But i can also be that u need to reinstall ur gfx drivers, might work sometimes
