Personally, I think it's about time ET had brightskins, it's not like CoD2 where being that visible would ruin gameplay, 99% of the time you know where the enemy is anyway. There are lots of discussions, but imo the next config should force r_ambientscale 1.
Thoughts?

maybe make a vote here in crossfire i bet many people would like to have brightskins
ET still lies in between Quake like fiction shooters and CS/CoD like shooters wich focus on realism. Flashy skins wouldnt really suit the ET 'universe' though settings like r_intensity or r_ambientscale wich only make ET look more simpler (read sucky graphix but better gameplay)
I still got difficulties to see allies in some maps :/
and imho it would be rly n1
In some maps is nice change this (for moviemakers) , like @ gr.. b4...
ps: i tested only low numbers...try like r_directscale 50 xD
p.s If u wanted to go extreme then replace the player models with just big blocks that accurately show the hitboxes.
On a side note maybe in the next etpro they can have settings in the options gui (there's a lot already i know :<) that do the r_ settings etc. i.e the settings that everyone likes to change but u have to do it in the cfg file or not at all. Minor change but maybe its relevant. If brightskins were included then u could add this as well. (some folks like dark skins on bright maps and others dark maps and bright skins.)
r_intensity 5
r_ambientscale 1
will be most popular frag server in ET
Brightskins.
Goes well with r_ambientscale 10
Need to be serverside (unless its an impure server like ETTV servers - it'll work on them)

Bullets are bright (looks cool imo) - see 3
Packs (med/ammo) are green - see 1
Taken on ETTV, r_ambientscale is default though.
Sounds quite good for me. I wouldn't really protest against brightskins.
And white blobs wouldn't annoy me neither. Models already look like blobs/potatoes with my shitty cfg.
