there arent many eng smg only players, many of great players like FragStealer was awesome eng smg for years and then changed class and became even better :P
People who really defined the Engineer role for me when I was playing on high level:
Xpazzle (just numba 1, can't go wrong with the paz) Sheep (one of the first I can remember who played Engineer pretty much full time and got the job done) ENSAM (since 2009 I don't think there has been a contender for the spot. ENSAM is just the best Engineer ET has had since 2k9)
Of course there's more (mainly) Engineers that got the job done, like Clown, drago, and more recently Baggiez. But if I had to pick 3 from a separate era I'd pick the aforementioned. :D
hurts me to see some people saying players like chry / twidi / mztik , guess they really havent seen much ( they aint shit but nowhere near the ones named by perfo )
drago, Clown and Mztik also worthy of mention, though all of them had more in-depth view of the game, rather than the engi class and when talking of depth you can't finish a sentence without mention of Night. Some people are just better running around doing their thing, but would also be excellent smg engis.
Well, really hard to decide overall. The playing styles are different. Don't know what you're looking for as well? Are you looking obj wise (planting/defusing) or are you looking dmg/teamplay wise (landmine kills/nadespam).
