today (saturday) i will be getting eye-laser surgery done..

im kinda nervous because things could go wrong but hey you only live once, right.. im getting it done because i will be working for the dutch "royal police" (koninklijke marreschaussee) in october and its one of their standards to have eyesight within -2 and +2. ive got -2,75 so yeah.. will cost me €2200 worked my ass of for it :P

anyways i wanna hear your thoughts on it, let me know.

You need to wait till your eyesight stays stable for at least a year before doing laser surgery. It usually takes till around 22 years old if it's hereditery, unless you keep straining your eyes and it just keeps getting worse every year.

i guess its good to not be too dependent on them in case they break during a dangerous situation

i know im -1.5 myself so i need glasses/lens to see details at a distance, but i dont use them while going out/to the store/cycling/etc

So you get this done not to fix your eyes completely but just to make it less bad? That does not sound too convincing to me for that price. Please do a follow up on how it went and what it's like. :)

In Israel many people choose this solution and it's kinda popular,and like a friend told me when I asked him why he's doing this he said "I just want to wake up in the morning and not having to look for my glasses to be able to see".
I can count about 10-15 who I know had this surgery,and they seem to be very pleased with what they have done :p

Thought about it either, but I'm afraid that something will go wrong or that I'll end up too photosensitive, because even now I sometimes can't watch in a grey sky without feeling dazzled.

Edit: I'm almost blind anyway, so I rather stick to my lenses. xD
