[ET] What change would you like?

Everybody can't deny there is a drop in activity concerning ET. A lot of players quit playing this great game and start playing games like LoL or CS:GO.
Of course we would like to see this changed, but we do not know what has to be changed in order for ET to be active again. Are there any ideas that might increase the activity of ET again?
Anything you would like see GTV to do, which would make it more interesting for you to play ET more often?
Anything concerning cups, ladders, tournaments?

In this case someone must Code a working stream that is GTV compatible. Also ET needs more shoutcasters then.
Using an ETTV bot, that allows you to spec everyone in the match etc. Just like ETTV, but then in a stream?
You can do that by going ETTV and listening shoutcast at the same time.
btw did i ever say to stop casting through ettv? no, so your reply is worthless
Coverage would be a good idea... There is hardly any coverage, no journals about EC aswell. I did not even knew there was an EC going on untill I read the bSTURZ journal.
only chance is etlive with big tournament
So I already gave it up. 1 'active' server in a game filled with cheaters, hurray!
Haven't seen ANYONE actually caring for me putting it up in the first place anyway lol, but the second it 'seems' like it may go down the caring starts? xD
nbs1 + 2 + 3 was good, multiple active servers but now it's just one. when you had 3, they were almost all full all the time.
I am talking about the server only here, not NBS in general. I know many who loved the stuff we did and those I thank.
didn't know we've met
I've never "met" anyone who plays ET, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion
Even though, someone starting RIGHT now can already see it is dead, simply by comparing it to other games' activities.
Keep your arguments against MY opinion to yourself then.
last ET cup
- a big tournament with prizes at the begining of next year
- new 6v6 nations cup soon
- a series of one day cups each week (e.g. on tuesday 3v3 cup and on wednesday 6v6 cup) = certain prac for teams
- maybe a new cup with some different formula than others, ET league or something with few leagues (best teams in 1st, then worse in 2nd, 3rd etc), all teams play vs each other - football style. the best two from league can advance to better leagues and two worse teams are dropping to lower league.
- or some league inside countries and then best teams from each country (1, 2 or 3 depends on amount of teams) compose a "champions league" with best teams from each country.
- 3v3 nationscup
just few ideas, maybe crazy ones and hard to make it possible but still better than nothing
also we should create a IRC channel where all active players can idle so would be easier to find a war, find a merc, get a mix etc or at least chat with gamerz
Read GISM's comment
this also means no railgun, fueldump and blabla. if there were shoutcasters like tosspot, the only way matches would get interesting for specs would be if there would be a lot of adlernest, braundorf, frostbite and other such maps where there is megacrazy close games. no need for some 2003 maps that are U N P L A Y A B L E.
But people dont want to play it or even pracc it.
We tried to make 3o3 team back in 2011 and our home map used to be frostbite, teams just left - they said its retarded map if when they rolled us on supply or other..
So what about playing Ice, Village or Base in W:ET? It still won't be the same as RtCW, however maybe the map itself brings different style of how to play the game, more dynamic, more excitement for casters and viewers.
btw, I didn't mean EVERY map from 2003 is bad. lets not forget supply was made in 2003 and is the most played map in the game.
Yeah i know, just used it to have an introduction to try even older maps. :)
Anyway i think it is still worth a try, mappool with the big 3 and 2/3 RtCW-maps. But as always it depends on the majority of the scene and highskilled teams (when playing) to try and change in order to make it work.
besides I can see how unbalanced it is in ET by how balanced it is right now in RtCW.
I like the 'ET League'. it would be awesome
+ create a new irc channel... sick of going extra to 3v3.et or 6v6.et just create one channel for all.. #et.wars or so..
when etlive is out bring it to some mainnews on esl or somewhere
btw, are you from dP clan? :P
Actually we have 16 Intrested player, some High Skills like MadMack RhovaN Enforcer .....
Actually we have some problems to create the match server but we will fix it soon i will give you all infos to sign up etc.
More tournaments will follow soon! ( all tournaments are 1v1 portal challange)
Whats about CF some more guys are intrested ?
- The best thing atm would be Draft tournament 1-skilled captain - with 1skilled vice-cpt
- regular cups -> STEADY days, i mean like 3v3 ODCups would be still the same day in the week (for month, than change ? )
- This game lack of maps, dont know if New or oldschool (Karsiah,Pirates[new],Dubrovnik were pretty good..)
- Shoutcasters for TOP matches
- For more skilled teams Prize tournaments
But i still think there is a lot skilled guys, who can act mature and try to help noobs -> who play with them.
The admins should just ask the players (captains?) by PM / q or something..
Obviously there would be topic somewhere where you can put info about you..
So no.
High skilled players ain't the whole scene.
whereas in CCDT there were like 8 or 16 captains and everyone could signup but those players were divided into some groups like medic, fop, rifle etc and every player got some number and teams were created according to these numbers so you didnt know with who you gonna play. you just knew that your team will have rifle, fop, engy and few medics. BUT dunno if i remember correctly :D but then because of too much amount of players and teams, some people started to have personal problems etc etc and it failed before its end.
http://www.crossfire.nu/group/view/id/7465
whereas the CCDT were the saviours of the community, making a tournament to teach the lowskilled-player how stuff is done when playing with 2 skilled players (basically each team had captain and co-captain, these could be skilled, and they were drafted 4 low-med players who have not played on a top level).
the cup died after less than 2 weeks.
Maybe something like a CDT could be done again, one for the higher skilled players and one for the lower skilled players?
whereas I know most of the highskillers and can rely on them being here. the ones who let me down were karnaj, lunatic and xperia. luna+xpr had a real issue which was their grandfather died and had to go travel somewhere the funeral would be, karnaj just said he forgot lol. other than that, 48 players per cup.. it all went pretty smooth.
besides, people don't call ET dead because there aren't enough lowskillers. people call ET dead because the highskillers don't play anymore, people hate me for the CDT cup I made but because of that the Spring season was pretty filled with skilled players. best I could possibly do is add some more new captains. I thought I did that already but still people can't be pleased. :D
Don't think it would work now tho, alot of players around here dont like to play with people who they dont know, which is normal.

just getting your facts straight when you can't.
how about go fuck yourself?
Your tournament was just a chance for you to message people like butchji etc trying to get them to play the tournament and get some recognition with the better players in the game. Half of the active players in the highskilled scene found the competition boring and I myself didn't want to compete in it because it was just a chance for a few of the "highskilled" players to run around and try and get some recognition by ramboing and playing for stats.
You seem quite bitter about the way people perceive your tournament. Your cup had problems (captains leaving / stray / razz incident etc). Our tournament went ok especially based on the size of the tournament and amount of players :-)
fumble messaged all the players
i could say, that you only made that ccdt cup because you aren't a liked figure and you wanted the community to like you? anyone can play that game.
1 captain left in that tournament and it was razz, hardly something I should blame myself for. he apologised to me later for it and stray replaced him anyway. the simple point is you only did the tournament because people were whining about everything CDT _didnt_ have and you wanted to be the hero for them. :)
Same crap with the crossfire panel when we decided on game format changes / map changes etc. We were hated but what was done had to be done.
You seem to have some sort of obsession with me and the teams / tournaments or whatever i am involved in.
You always pop up in these sort of journals, providing a load of dribble based content thinking that you know what ET needs. Hell you even became a crossfire admin like 8 years into the game. You provide comments on teams, like you are the all knowing guy that knows everyone's lineup and games and teams that happened 6 years ago. You love these types of journals because you think you can have some input where people read what you type and think; man this guy knows what he is talking about and you get some sort of comfort from it. Fact is no one really listens to your dribble, you hardly ever play the game but seem to know everything and eveyone in it and you only got to a semi decent level yet you know why the best players and teams dont play / they are greedy etc.
You are an outside guy that pretends he is on the inside and that he knows everything. Same happened with Team UK when we won Nationscup. You were the worst captain and had no involvement in even scheduling matches etc.
Take your bitter obsession with me elsewhere and stop commenting on things that i am involved in like you could have done or did better
you became a CF admin like a year before me (not that it's an achievement - you are making out it is, I didn't ask to be admin nor do I feel pride in it) + i pop up in a lot of journals, why would these be anything special?
you really seem like you've just let out some traumatic emotions anyway, guess this stuff has been on your mind for a while. nice to actually see you spitting it out though.
ps. I haven't done anything in ET for myself, don't know if that's what you're getting at. I made a movie of myself but I've also helped others doing theirs so you aren't gonna put shit across like I'm some selfish person. :) yeah I made CDT for the high-players, because ET was dying and it genuinely looked like half of the people who were active in the previous season would quit by spring 2012. you can make out what you want but fumble and owzo will also tell you the reason we did what we did and it was solely based on toplevel activity (which is pretty damn important, look at now - everyone whining about et being dead because of the state of ec playoffs) d:
Not really mad, just thought i would finally let you know how it is. I know you have had some sort of grudge / obsession with me for some time now.
Specially on those tournaments you pretend it was your ideea to made it in the first place right?
Ok, let s make the journal without the irc logs than.
Neither cup was bad, and of course CDTs had higher viewer amounts as the teams were formed as captains saw fit. The difference being that CCDT was made for the players, not the viewers.
What I mean is that I was the last or the second to last pick in CDT2, in the whole tournament, so the skill-level was quite high and difficult to get chosen if you didn't have a name for yourself.
no but seriously my interest in this matter is below freezing.
Your first reply in this chain starting from CDT had a hint of hostility (towards CCDT) in it which is why I decided to "contribute" in this flame war. And not really even a hint, quite blatantly slags the tournament.
Oh and unless you meant you answered a statement with a question, I'm a little lost.
hardly a question
That's plain slandering CCDT. Emphasis on the words "didn't even bother" "won't ever happen again".
In my eyes you're sending a message: "Oh no ross - you did a good job, but your tournament was just shite"
where is the hostility?
emphasising on "didn't even bother" "won't ever happen again" won't ever make the meaning of my comment "Oh no ross - you did a good job, but your tournament was shite" :D I said they didn't even bother to create their own name, which is true. -> not hostility. I said the cup was too chaotic, which it was. the point is everyone was begging me to do the cup this way, and when ross & sk tried it proved impossible. after simon made a public "give up" journal about the tournament would you have guessed the tournament would happen again?
result: no hostility.
Pointing out faults without context or saying anything positive does give a hostile impression.
It's like making a pros & cons list without the pros.
For CDT1:
*only for the few
*resulted in a lot of flame due to closed invites
*not many players stayed active after the tournament
*will not happen again with the same format
no hostility
ET needs as much as it can get. I can't see a problem there tbh. Different ideas, different style, why not?
only joking! :o)
winning all = 3 points
winning 2 = 2 points
a 3:3 draw = 1 point
winner and 2nd place leave the group and play with the other winners in new group
fix maps like radar gold supply
the prize for the first 4 places could be paid from an entrie fee from every team for this tournement
big prizepool = more teams / better teams
ETpro needs one simple download, as alot of people already said. Don't know if it's possible tho.
- streams + shoutcasters
- simple install.exe for everything.. not this extra tzac shit.. too hard for new guys
- good tournaments
+1
how many active servers et still has (2.55 and .6b)
and thers not much left rip et
Livetime Ban from Cheaters
TZAC 3.0 (better Wire)
don't act like the game is dying because you are no longer an admin :)
LET'S SEE IF YOU REMEMBER
also I thought BFB2 went megasmooth, still only 16 teams but it went great.
About the comment, you probably mean my respond to Ross @ allstars event's newspost.
Ok, BfB 2 was good, but let's be honest - it's not a hard task to manage that amount of clans.
but yeah at least you remember the comment, im sure he does too. :D
Cups are bad nowadays since people aren't that active, hard to schedule wars, only one team against one team at one week. But the ladder, everything would be better. Ofc there would be no prizes, but seriously, how many prize-tournaments there has been, online, in total, 10? And maybe 2% of the players have had a chance to win anything from then.
REVIVE LADDERS!
Crossfire should have a donate button.
Community votes on what they would like (LANS, Anti Cheat, New maps, Mods, Leagues etc) and the money raised from donations goes towards funding the winning vote.
1- New maps
2- Better graphics
3- Radios stream
4- ET on Steam
5- OneDayCup everyday like in summer
6- Good prizes
7- TZAC 3.0
8- Ban the IP and the PC name of cheaters and not only the account
9- More ET videos on youtube
10- Make advertising of ET
11- Better graphics
12- New patch and fix bugs
13- New ETPro version
14- Have someone who can waste money making advertises on TV xD
Almost impossible to find a good pub with fun..well, i mean not overplayed maps, thats kind of sad
oh wait..
but i think many people started the game because of the rewarding system.
why not introducing a certain cup/ladder etc. with a config allowing upgrading you from Private first class to Captain?
and yes, of course maps are popping to my mind. there are indeed some more well balanced and simply great maps except supply.
Host a cup to see who wins.
good joke :D?
only badasses never change their opinion
more bullets, less spammy things!
I think there are some changes which could be made overall and some changes for which you'll have to make decision A or B.
I would say, try to create a comp with/on Crossfire
After that I would say how to attract more players depends on 2 choices. You could either choose to try to get more players in our current format/ETPro (option A) or try to change our own game/format (Option B) to involve the other players and play the game with them. Both have their pro's and con's
In this case you need to either recruit new players from pubs or other games or to get oldschool players back. Both which are not very easy imo, since it is not for nothing they don't play our game.
