intel dual core
et:qw sucks anyway so dont bother buying a new pc for that game
How the fuck would you know?

if you want to give your opinion, then say "I think .. "
Parent
maybe because i saw previews and this is my opinion but if you feel like playing a "battlefield-like-game" be my guest, et:qw just has nothing to do with the current et/rtcw, it's a totally different game...
Parent
Still the same classes, and objective looks the same either, blow up smth.

gamestyle will be different yes, but wtf? you don't even have played it? how will you know it sucks? you are just afraid every ET-player will leave ET and play QW and don't denie it btw.
Parent
pls omg you really are belgium right? i've played several games like battlefield and stuff and every game i did so far which had something to do with vehicles sucked in my opinion. So i won't like this game either, et/rtcw is a game in which AIM is needed, in et:qw it's not since you can fly around in your aircraft and drive around in your tank.
Parent
there are allready commands to delete the vehicles, so probably there will be scrim configs with those settings, so aim is most important again. thank you, come again.

intel dual core @ intel 975 or nforce 650/680 chipset
umso besser deine karte is umso mehr fps wirst bekommen..qw is aber auch mit geforce 6800gt spielbar ;)
If you take it for gaming: AMD Dual Core, if you take it for rendering, photoshopping and so on better Intel. If you want an "allrounder", Intel.
And ye I'd say Kingston is worth the price.
not true, amd isn't better for gaming atm.
Parent
in the past it was... nowadays intel out performs AMD gamingwise.

Btw, ET:QW will meet a bit higher requirements as Quake IV have
Parent
System requirements close to Quake 4
"In talking to Kevin Cloud and Paul Wedgewood of id Software and Splash Damage, it was expected that the game would have the same requirements as Quake 4

go for C2D E4300 and overclock it
Guck mein Profil und mach das dann.
+ Asus Mainboard M2N4 SLI
dual core all the way
dual: 400€
quad: 1400€
quad gives the double performance :p
Parent
Well, maybe quad would be a good choice as upgrading your cpu isnt that easy. Might aswell keep using some 'older' pci-E video card and upgrade that later on.

Personally, I never buy the latest stuff as its just overpriced.
Parent
yes, overpriced, thats true, but you are able to play the latest games for long time on it :)
Parent
could aswell buy a new pc every 6 months :P
Parent
if you have the money... :D
Parent
thats the point. you could buy a great mobo cpu for 500€ instead of buying the latest for 1400€. You can buy those parts in six months for 500€ so why pay for the best stuff?

You can call it spam if you want but it kind of completely answers the question.
depends if u gonna overclock or not
Core2Duo atm
Graka 8800 GTS or something maybe wait till the R600 is released
4 gig ram if u have enough money and you want a later vista
1GB is enough for Vista.
Parent
oh plz dont talk shit
Parent
1gb is enough i saw that by a friend!
Parent
vista needs 500mb in idle -.- there is a difference between "enough" and enough!
Parent
2x 1 go and forget vista if you're not a g33k.
