Mouse disconnecting

K, here's the problem:

I have a MX518, connected through USB. On random moments, it disconnects and reconnects again after 1/2 seconds.
I've tried connecting it to other USB ports on my pc, but the problem keeps occuring.

If somebody knows how to solve this problem, it would help me a lot!

nah it's not broken, because if i have it on ps2 the problem doesn't occur (lost my ps2/usb transition thingy though)...

1. try PS2

2. uninstall drivers from cp>system>hardware>device manager>mice and other pointing devices reboot ur PC download latest drivers and try it again

3. buy new one probably not MX518 (it's nice mouse but i heard too much about that disconnecting shit)

same problem with my g5 after 1 year usage . Its broken and u can do nothing except getting new one :) bw has anyone of u tried to playin on MS Habu ?

Google for some tests, like 90% of them says Habu sucks hard.

i also have that with my diamondback :)

fixed it by taping the beginning of the cable to a solid 5 cm of tape

it now happens like maybe 2 times a month :p instead of 10 times in 10 minutes

I also done that with like 3 copperheads, have had about 5 all together got them all replaced.

actually if you're sure the cable is NOT broken, you can try this:
go to control panel > system > hardware > device manager
