Language rule

Sorry Netherlands Ronner but,

... you got nothing better to do tbh ?

Just let ppl post what they want, don't read it if u don't like it... be happy u have alot of users online at your page and get alot of money from intel and stuff (or whoever pays for that banners on the upper right) cause your user-stats are high... many hits = many money :D

There are two problems with allowing multiple languages. The first is that it discourages those who aren't multilingual (most people can't read more than 2 or 3 languages) from looking at stuff, if too much stuff is in languages they can't read. The second is that it's impossible to moderate postings in languages the admins cannot understand.
"The second is that it's impossible to moderate postings in languages the admins cannot understand. "

And if i make a posting in zuaheli with (zuaheli) behind it, you can moderate it yes ? oknp...

ronner is dutch i dont see the problem here...

Why is it so hard for people to play by the rules? Especially when the rules are so leniant..
well i agree, because sometimes i like it if someone write in dutch for example and give a translation, so we can all learn a bit from other languages, than our own or english.
but i submit with the rule, rules r rules. :(
never cared about journals/comments in other languages i dont understand

nooriboori is right
Their site, their rules. Don't like them? Don't visit CF.
We've been tollerating it Noorgrin, nothing more nothing less. Now we just put some basic rules to it to keep it a bit clean in here, or at least try to.

And as for the money on the banners, strangely enough I haven't seen a dime so I'm not so sure you should be saying shit like that to me
i am just saying, you should be happy about a high user activity @ xfire

Sure it is annyoing that ppl start talking dutch/german/finnish or something in a thread all of a sudden. But mostly they reply to each other in their language and talk about something that has nothing to do with the topic.
I 4 eg. just don't care about this...and i don't understand how u can care about something like this... but ok...

But as Rhand already wrote, it is your side and it is ur good right to make ur own rules...

Guess i will get banned a few times soon cause i will still reply @ swine with a "HI HURENSOHN" or something in a thread when i checked xfire in the morning 4 eg.
Parent
It's not my site. I'm glad for toss that the user activity is high but I've been an admin on www.livesets.com where the user activity is lots higher than it is here and we enforced language rules there as well.

Sure there are people that dont find it annoying and there are others that do. Just to keep it clean and keep most ppl happy we made some very simple and basic rules. It's not a big thing, nor should you make such a big deal out of it. It's not like we will hunt every journal now for posts in foreign languages.. It's just when I encounter one I hand out a 1 day ban.. and it's only 1 day to show the rules WILL be enforced and to make sure that they remember it. nothing more nothing less.
Parent
nice language rules you have where german threads getting deleted by the admins, whilst we have to live with all that dutchie (belgian aswell) trash...
Parent
In case you didn't notice, I delete the NL/BE stuff as well. As a matter of fact, about 4 dutchies and 1 belgian are having a 1 day ban since today and so far not 1 german, so stop whining, huhrensohn.
Parent
i didnt said a "special case"...was just talking about the general situation.
Parent
you are not making any sense.
Parent
thanks for the ban...now i forgot my usefull reply
Parent
well you are back now aren't you
Parent
and im counting the minutes till i can leave work...DJ is calling :D
Parent
FlyingDJ...will meet him tomorrow <o/
Parent
why? do you have a fetish with dead animals on ppl's chin?
Parent
well i just don't see a sense here.

If it would be a serious business side or something ok, but its a fucking game-side that ppl visit for fun and post for fun.

I don't see the sense and even thou i am 26 already i still can't accept any rules (at least if they don't make sense to me :D).

Tbh i am to lazy to dicuss things out and as u already said "It's not a big thing, nor should you make such a big deal out of it."

So i will keep going like i did before and if a recive a 1 day ban i don't care tbh as it is only one day.
Parent
1st offense = 1 day
2nd time = 2 days
3rd time = 1 week
4th time = month ban
5th time = permanent ban

so go ahead :P
Parent
u see the point, banning ppl for totally nosense from a totally unserious gaming-page...

as if i would watch and think about any rules at a fucking funpage... totally senseless from my point of view sorry...
Parent
That's your opinion. Explain to me how it is different on a dancemusic related website like www.livesets.com

You dont have to agree with the rule. You can think it's useless. Others think it isn't. Wonderful world of opinions.
Parent
During the xf4 beta testing i saw there was an option for Language filtering!
Hi Noor <o/
hi rfki my love :D <3

how u doin ?
Parent
Actually, very fine!
You?
Parent
guess i am banned soon by almighty ronner :D

playing War§ow (maybe u saw the GIGA2 News thinggy from WhiningDJ) and i have a new job in IT-Administration in a new company... more MON3Y and stuff !!1111 :D
Parent
he won't ban you for that, don't worry (he's suffering dementia so already forget this journal)
Parent
he need to find his ginkgo !! :D
Parent
stop whining, this rule isn't actually a new thing, it has been atleast since I joined crossfire (Member For: 2 years, 2 months and 21 days). you see, there's a nice clickable text under the writing area that says Posting Guidelines. Click it and the first thing you see is "The only language allowed on Crossfire is English. Postings in other languages will be removed." it shouldn't be too hard to understand
Spießer #2 :)

Edit:
Wait i search a translation into english to show Ronner i respect the rules and stuff !!111 (and cause i am bored :D)

Edit2:
my dictonary says "bourgeois" .. dunno if it is right
Parent
bann ....
Parent
what about u make a special section where ppl are allowed to write in any language they want
i think this is not needed tbh, what makes me mad is if 4 eg. a finnish friend from u replys at this now with something like "hi spirea, come @ ventrilo" or something in finnish... i mean yeah there is a "PM"-Function, but i am too fucking lazy to use it tbh
Parent
but you are allowed to make a journal by yourself with the info "hi spirea come to vent (in finnish)" if your topic includes (finnish) :DDDD

so not necessary to use the pm function if you can use the journal function
Parent
I know, and imo it should be allowed :P

it's just admins' fault if they don't know enough languages..

I, myself would understand that msg in more than 10 languages
Parent
Spirea180IQ :D
Parent
ofc :)

I studied 5 languages in school in addition to finnish, and there are many languages that are kinda similar to those
Parent
totally argee with Ronner, ban all retards :)
